The food here is fantastic! Everything my brother and I ordered was served quickly, and the servers were extremely friendly. Although the place is a bit worn down, it’s a family-owned restaurant that adds to its charm.
The large combo pho satisfies the desire for comforting food and hot soup on a chilly day. They provide convenient squeeze bottles for the sauces. The taro milk tea was delicious, though they had run out of boba by the end of the day.
We tried this place this evening. As a resident of Bellingham for 15 years Pho99 has been our go-to, so we wanted to check this place out.Well to start off their customer service is something to be desired. The first booth we sat at had a strong SOUR smell. Even my teen who smells nothing noticed it, so we moved tables. Our server noticed and was smiling and chatting with the other employees. I let our server know that it smelled bad and maybe it was their wet towel they use for cleaning. She came to our table with the same towel and WOW did it stink after she wiped it down. It smelled so sour. Thanks. Our meal was minimal and didn't have much flavor. I tried to believe that they cared about the important stuff, but if they can't change out a rotten towel they've used over and over all day. Hmmm.We won't be going back.
We stopped by for a quick bite and tried the banh mi. We highly recommend the grilled pork sandwich.
I've gone here a number of times since I moved to Bellingham 3 years ago and it's definitely my favorite pho place around. Their spring rolls are excellent, and every variety of pho I've had was great (I typically go for the beef combo varieties to be specific). Also the service time for food is excellent- perfect for a relatively quick stop. Prices are so reasonable, the staff have always been friendly and not overbearing, and it's a great place to wind down in after a long day. Will for sure be seeing me more!
