I feel very fortunate to live in Bellingham. We have so much good food and Blue Fin is one of my favorites. Pricewise, Wasabee wins (don't ignore that place, as the sushi is surprisingly good), but since the new ownership, Blue Fin has won my heart with its variety and flavor. This sushi can compete with the sushi I had in Japan, and I believe that the chef is Korean! The food is delicious here, even the non-sushi ch... View all feedback.
What Alona Timofeyeva doesn't like about Blue Fin Sushi:
Deluxe combo with spicy tuna was unedible. I initially asked for salmon or anything that 's not spicy and my request was declined. When I tried the spicy tuna roll that was a part of the combo I informed the waiter that it 's way too spicy and simply unedible. The owner/chef refused to change it and charged me full rate for the food I wasn 't able to eat. What a rip off!!! View all feedback.
Ok so first impression not good poor service from waitress. First impressions speak loudly. Steve the sushi chef ended up taking our orders. Food presentation was good due to the sushi chef and cook in the back. The muscles are the best in Bellingham for flavor and freshness. We had lunch and where in and out within an hour and under 20 dollars... So all in all the food and the cooks make the blue fin great!
Good service, good food. Like their noodles and sushi. Affordable price, too. Not my favorite sushi place but I do like going.
Fabulous service and great lunch specials. The Philly roll crispy melted in my mouth the way good sushi does. It's my favorite sushi date place so far. I can't wait until I can go back!
Fantastic sushi, acceptable service. Overall my favorite sushi in Washington. Very friendly (if not the speediest) staff and to reiterate, amazing sushi with original and delicious rolls.
Excellent. Just had a fine sushi lunch at Blue Fin. I'm new in Bham and was nervous about my first sushi. I chose well. I've traveled quite a bit, including LA, SF, etc and eaten sushi everywhere I been. I am a nigiri guy. Rolls and all that are nice, but one cannot judge the quality of the fish with mayo and spicy sauce all over it. The freshness and quality of the fish at Blue Fin is excellent. Steve, the chef, and Sue his wife, are the owners. They were both very friendly and attentive. They have been in business four years and are obviously doing it properly. Also the selection was impressive. I had Ankimo, Saba (they make it there), Uni, Big Eye Tuna, Scallop (Hotate), Unagi and Hamachi. Yes, I ate too much, but it was excellent and I wanted to really check out the quality of the fish. The other amazing thing is that the nigiri was $4! $4?!?! For fresh fish?! I am accustomed to paying more like $6-$7. Anyone complaining about the price needs to just go to the all you can eat place... You get what you pay for...
