A group of 35 of us (all seniors) had lunch (an 8course banquet) here on Tuesday 31st May. From the moment we arrived it made a good impression. The staff were very friendly & the room was charming. My family and I came here for dinner before a football game. The Chinese waitress we had was incredibly rude and seemed very impatient, but we managed to get a smile out of her. I would not recommend this place if you expect to be treated like a valued customer, as the service was definitely lacking for the high prices. This restaurant consistently has great food. It never disappoints. Favourite would be the Combination Sweet and Sour with crispy noodles.
The food was probably better than average, the service was good but the prices were way over the top. The portions were smaller than expected, especially given the prices.
Decided to return to this well known Cantonese restaurant after almost 10 years. Still good quality food, well presented and with lots of flavour. All the usual chicken, beef and pork dishes with standard sauces. These dishes labelled spicy are suitable for most Australian palettes, very mild really. Dishes are a bit small for the price, but the service is good. Drinks are reasonably priced. The only draw back to this restaurant are the very steep entry stairs.
Having not been able to get out of Bellerive after the AFL on Saturday, we made our way to the Golden Junk to let the traffic clear and grab a cab a bit later on.Eight of us arrived unannounced and were warmly welcomed by Regina and her team.We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service. Regina is great fun, the food is excellent and the restaurant and amenities are clean.This was an accidental find but we are really happy we stumbled across it. It was a welcome respite after a long day at the footy and the frustration of transport hassles. Thanks Regina, we loved spending an accidental evening with you.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here a few weeks ago. It was a quiet night and we were treated like royalty. The food was lovely and cooked to perfection. We would definitely return.
