If I could give this place zero stars I would. Worst customer service ever in belize. Had a terrible experience with them today. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. View all feedback.
Great ambiente friendly a friendly folk be a place that shows the garifuna culture and food of belize also a place for great reggae music on Sunday.
The food was well prepared and the serving was more than enough. My watermelon juice was delicious! The entertainment was spot-on. Excellent!
First time in, not bad. Would love if they had a full menu to choose rather than hoping they make something that I eat today.
This was our first experience to Belize. Our tour agent recommend this place to us. She said it was delicious and only opened for a few weeks. Even though we couldn't find any reviews on Trip Advisor or Google, we decided to trust her and try it. So we walked in and were handed a menu. The price of the entrees had signs on them, but we were thinking if they were Belizean dollars or US dollars since taxis and tours cost are usually in US dollars. Our waitress told us their Hudut was 17 USD. Hudut is a traditional Garifuna (West African mixed with Caribbean) dish made of fish and cured pigtails in coconut stew served with mashed plantains. We thought the price were outrageously high considering the restaurant was not a fine dining, had no a/c and located on the side of a dusty road. When we got our food, we were surprised of the small amount being served for 17 USD. The food was alright. Tasty, but I would have not know since I did not care to go into another Garifuna restaurant to compare the favors. When our tour agent friend picked us up, we told her our experience and realized that we were ripped off. See, the menus in Belizean restaurants usually stated that prices are in Belizean dollars. But at this restaurant, they chose to leave it out only to mislead tourists and charged them double (1 USD 2 BZD). I'm sad that the reputation of the kind and hospitable local Belizeans were jeopardized only because a newly opened restaurant is choosing to take advantage of the tourists. While I may not get the money difference back, I just hope that this message would serve as a reminder for the staff to treat all customers both locals and tourists with fairness.
