La Case Poisson is the best restaurant in Trou D'eau Douce. Not only can you get fresh fish grilled to your liking, but you can also watch the chef as they grill the food. The BBQ chicken is also super tasty as well as the garlic bread and coleslaw! Service is top quality too! This was our second visit and will certainly be back for more! View all feedback.

Very nice decor, atmosphere and service. Food is ok however portion sizes are smaller than what one would normally expect. Giant shrimp quite pricey) is more suited to a starter, as it’s just equivalent to 3 regular size prawns, sides eg fries, rice) should be ordered separately from mains as they only come with a bit of coleslaw. Amazing fish restaurant in the middle of nowhere special. Basic to look at but the grill sets it apart. A seafood masterpiece. A basic grill makes up for any added extra flavours. Plain old good solid food served straight from the sea. Go for the platter! Giant prawns, lobster, parrot fish, octopus, squid and a side Left with a huge smile. Worth an 11 hour flight. Go
Super fresh grilled fish. Starters calamari in garlic recommended. Just beer and shorts, no wine but a good experience R3000 for three courses, two persons.
Lovely place, fish and lobster and charcoal grilled which is very nice, staff are friendly and welcoming Would only recommend adding more drinks and side dishes variety
Always better to book before you go. The restaurant wasn’t busy when I visited. The service was great and fast. They brig you the whole fish to pick and see how fresh. I have picked poisson medium size for 2 people and prawn all grilled. And garlic bread and they bring coleslaw. The food was amaaaazing. It taste very good. Some people says it’s too oily. But the secret and the flavor in this oil or butter I strongly recommend this place and I’m going to visit it again.
The grilled fish we received was disappointingly small compared to the fresh grilled fish we had enjoyed at other locations for 450 Rs and, most importantly, it was completely bitter and inedible. The seafood platter, priced at 1500 Rs, was also quite underwhelming—overcooked and consisting of just two mussels, two shrimp skewers with veggies, one tiny fish, one large prawn, and half of an extremely small lobster. Meanwhile, the waiters seemed to prioritize the "exclusive" guests from the Four Seasons Resort, showcasing a variety of fresh fish to them. It felt as though customers who were less discerning—those who didn't open the menu or check the prices—were receiving the best service and the freshest offerings. In the end, I could only manage a few bites of the fish. The waiter did apologize when he took the fish away, and on the positive side, we weren't charged for it. However, I believe all customers should be treated equally, especially those who choose to dine at the restaurant and spend their money there. We left feeling hungry and disappointed.
