Very casual. They tried their best to make this restaurant look inviting. It is cheap. But I felt the food and the menu quite ordinary and it does not justify a second place rating. We ate here once and I did not want to return View all feedback.

Four stars only because the table service was a bit slow, it is the Alentejo after all! The first time I ate here, I ate the Terra e Mar (surf and turf) and had the mushroom risotto. We were three and couldn't finish the plate that was for 2! Two weeks later I came back, wondering was it worth the 2hr drive for a risotto, and the answer was a resounding yes! The migas de espargos are amazing and filling too. Would totally eat here again!

One of our best meals in Portugal. It seemed a bit pricier for Portugal at first but the portions were very generous and food of top quality. My boyfriend and I were both very full and satisfied. The food was exquisite and the service very friendly and helpful. Our waiter translated the entire menu for us as we didn’t understand Portuguese and the chef was very generous upon special requests. They don’t list it on the menu but the chef is very willing to make a vegan risotto. We both ordered from the special menu and could really recommend!

It was back to October last year. I stayed in Beja for 3 days with my colleagues. Before I went to Beja, I called to Intimo for some catering enquiry and the boss Jose answered all my questions patiently. After arrival, we went there for dinner. It was just amazing, we had a wonderful night. Moreover, I needed to get some catering for my boss to eat on the private jet flight back to London. Jose was so professional. He had given a lot of suggestions on catering selection with wonderful packing. He is such a gorgeous gourmet chef. He made my Beja trip more memorable. Hope I can back to visit in one day! Another fortunate accident off the beaten path. My friend and I suffered a flat tire, rendering us stranded in Beja. As we walked down the street searching for a meal, a powerful heavenly smell hit our nostrils and we decided to eat here. The portions are VERY generous. As I told my Spanish friends, they serve American-sized portions with the quality and taste of Spanish food. I foolishly decided to order two appetizers. First came the Navy bean soup which was hot, thick, creamy, and oh so tasty. Next came the calamari which was lightly breaded in what I can only describe as the tastiest batter I 've ever had the pleasure of eating. It was light and crispy with profound garlic and onion flavor, complimented with hints of parsley and a touch of salt, which greatly accentuated the fresh innate seafood taste of the calamari. Next came the main course: a heaping portion of steak and tiger prawns (aka the jumboist of jumbo shrimp . The meat was tender and flavorful while the prawns were cooked to perfection. I was served by the owner and she was polite and very warm, answering every question I had while providing her recommendations. I left the restaurant full, sleepy, and very happy. We stop here for just a lunch “on the road”, but we were treated on a very good lunch with good quality. The choco frito (grilled octopus was fresh and baked in good oil, with very good mayonaise and home made patata fritos. And the creme brulee was of extreme good quality. Made of fresh vanila, just sweet enough and a good crunch on the top. The half a liter of white wine (of the house? was tasty. We eat together on a sunday with Portugese people for a reasonable price.

The best restaurant in town…we had the tomahawk and it was incredible!! Keep space for desserts, they will make you melt.

This is a place that the owner really cares about every single detail. Well worth a visit and crazy good value for money. The food we had was for 4 people and we simply couldn’t eat it all as there was so much. Thanks again

If the place is not particularly charming, it’s very clean and well maintained. Personnel speak English and is very friendly. Kitchen is of good quality. A good address in Beja

I had long ago wanted to visit the place but never had the chance until now! A great experience! The owner greeted us with warmth and a smile, and so she did when we left the place after a very nice dinner! The beef steak was cooked very well and the plate was not just good looking but very filling and tasty as well. Came with a small salad, french fries and an egg on top (it’s a custom here in Portugal). After the starters, the beer, the wine the salad, the mains and the coffee, we ended up paying a total of 70€ (35 each) which is not considered cheap but for the quality and quantity of the food was a very good price! I will most definitely come back again, to taste the white fish (something like tuna)! Keep up the good work, thanks for everything!

We had one of the best meals we have had in years. The dishes served were creative, artistic, and delicious. The service was excellent. The desserts were imaginative and delicious. A don 't miss restaurant when in Beja.

Excellent service excellent food. Good menu explained by a fluent waiter. Pepper steak in photos. A copy of an English menu would have made life easier on the waiter.
