A changé de nom s'appelle maintenant "Le Milieu". Repris récemment par la sympathique Maria qui était déjà la patronne il y a plus de 20 ans. Un retour appréciable dans ce restaurant de village où la bonne ambiance est de mise. La salle à manger au sous-sol, dans une cave voûtée a un charme unique. En plus on y mange très bien. Les viandes sur ardoise sont présentées de manière originale, pas facile de varier sur ce thème.
Charmant lieux atypique, belle et bonne cuisine, superbe équipe ,convivial sympa, vaudois, que je recommande.
Unfortunately this enjoyable place does not exist anymore. It closed its doors a while ago for reasons I don't know. Pity! Hope the previous tenants will surprise us with a new hang-out someplace somewhen.
Food to remember! Starters of unusually small squid (calamaretti) - melt in your mouth delicious - followed by scallops wrapped in ham and served with finely sliced shallots cooked with mustard. We've not had a better meal prepared for us for a long while, and were served with a smile and unhurriedly even though the restaurant was full. All this very poignant as the Margaux will close in its present location in another 6 weeks. So get there beforehand and enjoy the wonderful food, but also if you have any ideas for a new location the owners would be happy to hear them. One important proviso - a place suitable for jazz nights is essential so that the tradition of monthly or more frequent concerts can be continued.
We have been to Margaux on a few occasions, and I am sad to read that the restaurant will close at the end of March 2015, as the lease is not renewed. The food is well prepared and presented, and quality of ingredients is generally high. Foie gras and crispy calamaretti are excellent starters, and the 'catch of the day' will not let you down as a main course. There are two menus on offer, but with wine pairings they are a little expensive, and you'll probably be better off 'à la carte'. Friendly and attentive service; the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm. Prices tend to be a little on the high side, though.
