After a successful holiday in Greece, my parents wanted to have Greek food with us, their children and grandchildren. My father had called in advance and indicated that one of the diners has difficulty walking and walks with a walker. This would not be a problem. When we arrived, the restaurant turned out to be completely full, except for 1 table, which had been reserved for our group. This table could be reached by climbing two flights of stairs. Annoying because it was indicated in advance that someone in the group had difficulty walking. The staff speaks poor Dutch and poor English, which unfortunately causes miscommunication. After placing the order, we received our food (of which 1 person also received the wrong thing and much later than the rest) only after an hour and a half. There are many young and friendly staff around. These ladies and gentlemen cannot help the mismanagement of the kitchen, but it is not advisable to tell a waiting table with irritated diners that take-aways simply have priority. This increases the irritation. We were offered a drink as an apology, but we decided not to take advantage of this and went for a delicious ice cream somewhere else. It was an experience that will not be repeated as far as our family is concerned.
