Nakwon - Beaverton
Nakwon
Description
Nestled in a bustling area, Nak Won offers a mix of experiences that reflect the complexity of dining out. While some diners rave about the generous portions and authentic flavors found in dishes like bulgogi and stone pot meals, others express disappointment over unseasoned meat and slow service. The popular banchan side dishes receive praise, yet the restaurant occasionally struggles with inconsistent quality and long wait times. Although ambiance can be lively, some patrons find it noisy, and attention from staff varies. Overall, Nak Won is a place of promise for Korean cuisine but may require patience alongside hunger.

First visit since pre-covid. Delicious Korean food! I was looking forward to the dipping sauce for the seafood pancake- I remember it being delectable and unforgettable. I was not disappointed. Soooo good. Other than that, the food over all was flavorful and came out of the kitchen hot. The mackerel was a bit too salty for my wife. We tried the Black Bean pasta for the first time- served in a large bowl and topped with an egg, we were very happy with this dish. The egg yolk was surprisingly prevalent in the flavor (once mixed), and we all enjoyed it. There is always a line, so get there early to avoid a wait, or sign the wait list sheet and enjoy the atmosphere, multiple screens with K-pop entertainment inside, or the active and kid friendly car-free outdoor haven. This is a bit more than normal Korean fare, but the quality, size of the dishes, and friendly service and atmosphere make it worth the visit.
He has a people choice order from here! I'm usually quite picky, but this list of his is really delicious. It may be considered the best in the United States, and it's high quality, low price, and large in quantity!
Hands down the best Korean food around PDX and Beaverton. I go here to get food that makes me feel like I'm back in Korea.
My family and I wanted Korean food one evening, and I had heard good things about Nak Won. I'm so glad we ended up going here because the food was all super tasty and up to our expectations. The prices here may seem high, but the portions are wildly big. I think each order could have fed up to two people. We got the Galbi, the Beef and Mushroom Soft Tofu Soup, Soybean Paste Soup, The Remedy (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup), and Stone Pot Rice. We had five people, and this was more than enough for all of us. I really enjoyed the Galbi and the Soft Tofu Soup. The Galbi was marinated super well, and the soup had a generous portion of beef. The soybean paste soup was also very flavorful, and both of the soups were literally served in huge stone pot bowls. Service was quick and friendly throughout our meal. It was fairly crowded even on a Thursday evening, but definitely an awesome spot for Korean food staples.
There seems to always be a wait for this place on weekend nights, but it is totally worth it! There is a sign-up sheet on the wall when you walk in to put your name, party size, and phone number. I recommend planning ahead and waiting out your table at one of the nearby bars. Both times I have been the wait was over 1 hr. The food and service are both terrific! The portions are definitely large enough to share; even the appetizers were big. I will definitely be coming back here.
