Reviews - Chimcking
Reviews summary
Nestled in the heart of Portland, this Korean-style fried chicken restaurant offers a unique dining experience that has garnered both loyal patrons and critics. While many rave about the perfectly crispy and flavor-packed chicken, particularly the soy garlic wings, some note inconsistent portion sizes and rising prices that dampen the experience. The vibrant atmosphere, fast service, and selection of craft beers enhance its appeal, although the quality has reportedly fluctuated since its inception. Despite mixed reviews, the restaurant remains popular, inviting diners to indulge in its delectable offerings, especially the twice-fried chicken and cheese ddukbokki for those craving a flavorful adventure.

new review:while the chicken is still good, it is as crunchy as I remember it. You order up front and bus your own tables. I prefer the spicy ones over the soy garlic. What Evalyn Hyatt dislikes about Chimcking:
Don't come here. There is crack in this chicken. Will ruin all other chicken places for you. Especially their hot wings and that crack sauce they have. Paired with their choices of beer and it's game over. View all feedback.

I believe this restaurant is currently experiencing the impact of the pandemic, rising supply chain costs, and a struggling economy. The wings served here have become extremely small, to the point where it is no longer worth visiting. This seems to be a recurring issue every time I dine here. The wings used to be large, juicy, and meaty, as shown in my comparison photo with a credit card and thumb for scale. I used to be a regular customer, and I really hope the situation improves. Despite the delicious flavor, the shrinking portion size does not justify the prices, which have not decreased. I want to believe that the owners are doing their best and not simply being greedy, as they appear to be good people. Hopefully, there will be positive changes in the future.
The service at this restaurant was terrible, especially considering the above-average prices for the deep fried chicken and rice. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful with my order.
The restaurant is decent, but not outstanding. The food is flavorful, but slightly overpriced for the portion sizes. There are many other Korean BBQ restaurants in the area that I prefer over this one. Providing real metal silverware would greatly improve the dining experience. The pre-packaged salad was disappointing.
We love this place!! Best bang for the bucks! More meat and less bread batter unlike other places. Don't believe me, try their half and half boneless chicken. :

We have been coming to this restaurant since it opened in the summer of 2020. In my opinion, they have some of the best chicken wings around. I would recommend trying a combination of half soy garlic and half hot chicken wings. The kimchi fried rice is also a great side dish. The prices are reasonable and the service is consistently good. I would definitely recommend this place to any chicken wing lover. Pro tip: bring your own gloves.
This restaurant serves the best chicken wings and the spiciest King I cost. The staff is friendly and the location is convenient, with the added bonus of a neighboring restaurant offering crab and meat salads.
The Korean-style fried chicken at this restaurant is delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. I particularly enjoyed the soybean chicken. The service was excellent!
I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry that all the fried chicken is too expensive for $27.99. I can get a whole buck for 7 or 10 dollars and get the same taste by making a premix korean flour. that's an autobahn. I do not recommend this business at all. you will not stay away from this place. update: 3/20/2022 I order the fried wing 13.99 I would still say no. it's okay, not bad, but for 13.99 its a little too expensive.
