Mmmmm les déjeuners sont sublimesUn vaste choix, de belles assiettes bien portionnees à des prix abordables et un excellent servive
The food here is really good - soups, salads, grilled meat, pizzas. We went for lunch, which became our big meal of the day (int he European tradition) when we saw the lunch specials. Soup, salad, primary protein (meat or whatever) and starch (rice, in my case) for about CAD17 or 18. The specials change daily depending on what the chef makes. All the regular menu items are also available, of course. The day we were there (a very unbusy Monday), they had vegetable soup (tomato base w celery carrots, onions, turnips), a pizza special, a beef special (grilled filet mignon pieces au poivre on a skewer w rice), and at least one fish special. Food was very good. Coffee was good. Service was excellent (again, a non-busy Monday). The resto-pub is attached to a convenience store and a Petro-Canada station, so you can fill several needs in one place.
We've gone here for dinner several timesduring our last two visits to Mont-Sainte-Anne and have not been disappointed. The food is very good and they have a wide variety of choices. The only downside is the customer service is a little lacking when they get super busy.
My second restaurant in St. Anne Beaupre, Quebec. Wonderful pizza, no red sauce on this one. Carmelo Ed onions that melt in your mouth with delicious and almost crispy mushrooms, butternut squash, mozzarella and chèvre cheeses, and the best crust I've had in a long time. The cosmopolitan was effect and service was wonderful. A nice place to stop for a pizza craving!
The restaurant is located in a strip mall area between a sporting goods store and a gas station. Interior was warm and inviting. The staff was friendly, but inattentive. I had a burger (NEVER ORDER A BURGER IN Canada unless you want something so dry you'll need a glass of water to eat it!! , the burger was dry primarily because of an archaic law which requires them to cook it above normal temperatures. It is ridiculous, but restaurants are forced to, so keep that in mind when choosing a burger, my wife had nachos, which were so covered with salsa you couldn't get to the chips etc underneath. Not a great experience in terms of dining, but it is close to the ski area, so it might work for you. I had the poutine w duck confit and bacon which was decent, however it wasn't hot.
