Was Anonym at Jef's cafe a mag?
We just stopped for a cold drink on a very hot day. Was very pleased to find cold, fresh brewed tea wiithout added artificial flavourings. Didn't eat but plan to go back soon to try some of the wonderful looking menu items. Very nice owner! She let me sample the dill pickle soup when I asked about. It's delish and will definitely go back for a bowl. Highly recommended for a coffee date or lunch with a friend. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Jef's cafe:
We have been here a few times for a light lunch or a coffee meeting with firends or family. Unfortunatley, the one issue that met us shortly after the place opened iss till there. There is decaf drip coffee, but no decaf espresso, latte, etc. As my wife must drink decaf, this takes away one option for future coffee get togethers. View all feedback.

Beaumont has a well kept secret called Jef's Café and I may be visiting Beaumont more frequently now that I've tried it. The first pleasant surprise was the location. It's on the west side of the main road through town and very close to the big church on the hill. Jef's is easy to find and you can park on the street right in front of the café for free. The café is bright and has several tables of different sizes. You walk up to the counter and the menu is up on the wall. I ordered a Reuben Sandwich and brewed coffee . The coffee was delicious and well above average for a café. Their menu said a refill is $1.60 but perhaps it's free if you order a sandwich because she brought me a refill without my even asking for one. I was glad because one just wasn't enough. My Reuben took a while but that's because they made it from scratch and hand made takes longer than fast food from a microwave. I would say that it has tied for the best Reuben in greater Edmonton. There was lots of sauerkraut which is just the way I like it. The price was very reasonable at $8.95. Really the only thing I can complain about is that the WiFi was not working. I'm sure that was a temporary problem as they do have guest WiFi. I didn't try anything from the pastrie counter but there were lots of tasty looking treats in there. You can be certain that I'll be returning to Jef's Café very soon and I recommend that you try it as well.

Stopped in for lunch on our way through Beaumont. Went out of our way to find a locally owned (not a chain) to support. We don 't mind paying extra to support local however in return we expect to have a decent meal. We each ordered a soup and sandwich, which took nearly 30 min to get, and there was only 1 order in front of us. The Cowboy sandwich had 1 tiny piece of thin sliced roast beef, not enough to cover half of the bread. The grilled cheese sandwich barely had any cheese in it, I actually opened it up to see if they forgot to put cheese in the grilled cheese. We were both terribly disappointed in the sandwiches. Top shelf prices for cheap sandwiches with hardly anything in them. I would have been embarrassed to serve that to customers. Worse than the sandwiches was the soup. It was the smallest 'cup ' of soup I have ever seen, and it was $5. I make pickle soup and have had it in a few restaurants, the pickle soup at Jef 's Cafe was the absolute worst attempt at pickle soup, so terrible I didn 't eat it. There was no dill, cream or potato in the soup, just a shredded sour mess. They should be embarrassed so serve slop like that. The cook should read a pickle soup recipe before they try to serve that again. I 'm not sure how they remain in business serving food like that. The only positive thing I can say is the latte is good.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and ordered the roast beef sandwich. I enjoyed the experience of filling out a sheet to customize my sandwich with my choice of bread, spread, filling, cheese, and extras. It was easy and I received exactly what I wanted. The staff were friendly and happy. The decor was lovely, with unique touches that added personality and character to the cafe. The restaurant was clean throughout, including the bathrooms which were also fresh-smelling. I highly recommend this place for a coffee and pastry or for lunch.
