To avoid the weekend brutalizing crush of traffic along the QEW Niagara, it's nice to travel along Hwy 8 and see some countryside scenery and several small towns and villages and sample cafes and restaurants such as Conversations Cafe at the corner of King Street and Ontario Street in Beamsville. Although it's located at a well travelled corner with continual traffic passing by the wraparound verandah makes a reasonable and comfortable and breezy spot for ice cream, dessert,or a meal. I tried the tuna stuffed avocado salad with quinoa, diced tomatoes on a bed of arugula with a light balsalmic vinaigrette, delicious and the two largest avocadoes I've seen. It's a meal unto itself, but there's many more tempting items to have from their menu. My iced matcha tea was refreshing and blended with skim milk as requested other than the 3.25% fat milk it comes with ordinarily. Limited free parking on site on King Street or in the free municipal parking areas behind the cafe off Ontario Street. Pet friendly patio. Great staff, quick service.
