Grandmakase served an authentic, refined omakase in Queens, showcasing fish flown daily from Japan and a chef trained at Manhattan’s top sushi houses. Meticulously composed courses — from buttery toro, scallop-and-uni sashimi and lobster served sashimi (advance order) to tempura prawns — balance delicate technique and bold flavor. Desserts surprise, service is minimal but attentive, and prices are upscale yet widely regarded as fair. A hidden gem for traditional sushi lovers.

Was Arely Kirlin at Ginpachi a mag?
Grandmakase was very good. The fish was fresh and well prepared. The cook has an impressive CV over Manhattan's best sushi joint; Work on blue ribbon, 15 east, kura, etc. Hard to find legitomakse or traditional sushi without going to the city. And for $65, you can't beat this. View all feedback.
I was here a handful of time and I have to say this is my favorite and I believe to be the best sushi spot in the area! Some might say it's a little expensive, but what I say is that it's worth absolutely cost and I don't pay it for the quality I got! Will definitely be back.
This restaurant offers truly authentic and exceptional Japanese cuisine. The dishes are beautifully crafted, featuring the freshest fish, including several rare varieties flown in directly from Japan. The lobster, which must be ordered a day in advance, is served as sashimi, sushi, and accompanied by a delicately seasoned butter sauce. Another standout dish is the scallop sashimi paired with sea urchin, making for a unique culinary experience in Queens. Recently, I also enjoyed the cooked dishes, such as the rib-eye steak, which was cooked to perfection. The black cod was incredibly juicy. The omakase dinner is a remarkable event worth experiencing. While the rolls may be typical, the California Roll is made with real crab, which is a nice touch! Even though there's only one waitress, she excels in her role. Everything here is authentic, from the shiso leaves to the red beans!
Chef is Japanese Satoshi San if I remember correctly. There are fresh imported fish from Japan daily. Not your typical Chinese ran Sushi join next door. The desert is awesome and I am not even a desert person.
I visited this restaurant for the first time a week ago, and I was truly impressed. I ordered the Grandmakase, and the experience was outstanding. The toro was incredibly tender, and the delicate tempura giant prawn served with thin fried rice noodles was fantastic. The flavors were exciting, and the service provided by the single waitress I observed was remarkable. It was definitely worth the money, and I will be returning soon!
