We wanted only a small dinner and this met the need. Fish soup good but rather plain, chipirons (small octopus) had a nice strong flavour but not haute cuisine.
The dining room is simply furnished decorated with some examples of the work of local painters. The menu is short and consists of typical local dishes. Service by the patron himself is fast and friendly. The food is very well cooked and the prices give excellent value for money. Very much to be recommended!
We always walk around before we choose a restaurant, even if we have read reviews... as we looked into this restaurant we were immediately aware of the good times, smiles, conversation and very interesting menu that we viewed.. a casual restaurant with delicious and tasty food with very friendly service... we would gladly recommend this restaurant for lunch as that was our meal there...
Calm and relaxing. Waiters are kind, it's cosy and friendly. Very nicely designed and the food is delicious. We've had a great night out as a family in Bayonne!!!
Bayonne is blessed with many smart and upmarket restaurants but for a rugby weekend we wanted something more mid-range. We spotted the 'menu del dia ' for just 11 Euros and went in. The place was busy on a Friday lunchtime with a mainly mature, local clientele. First of all the food was excellent and good value. My cote de boeuf with piperade was delightful. However, le patron made it perfectly clear this was a 'local place for local people '. He took an age to take our order, failed to bring bread and water which every other table received and slammed our drinks on the table. Downright odd and this peculiar behaviour ensured he did not receive a tip or a recommendation to any of the other of the hundreds of Glos supporters in town to go here. Shame, because it was good food and good value.
