Giovanni's Salumeria - Bayonne

I absolutely love this place! The sandwiches are incredible, and the customer service is outstanding as well. This restaurant is truly fantastic and ranks among my top three favorite sandwich spots, which is a big deal! The bread here is the best I've ever had in my life. Yes, I really mean it! With that said, I will definitely be returning.

I've lived in Bayonne for nearly 11 years now and I just discovered this place... man have I been missing out. This place is as amazing as everyone says but don't just read about.. you've got to experience it. You walk into this wonderful old school shop. Not only are there sandwiches, but the hot food is excellent. I took my time looking around; the smell of the place and and the nods of the people waiting in line confirmed that I was in a great spot. I finally decided to get a Shrimp Parm hero, some crabcakes, an order of their tiramisu and some cooked octopus. The Shrimp Parm was perfectly seasoned, properly done and also monstrous. I started eating it and before I knew it it was gone! The crabcakes were soo nice that somehow 2 of them were eaten before I got home. The octopus is yummy and the tiramisu will be wonderful dessert later. Listen stop reading go there! Go get something homemade and delicious to eat. I swear you will be coming back.. I know I will!

This has quickly become one of my favorite places. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed, and the quality of the food is unmatched. While we waited for our sandwiches, we were also offered samples of the cold cuts. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Forget about it!!!!!! The best sandwich in New Jersey. Gio is the man. He makes every sandwich with love and passion. Not like those other guys, that slap the meats on there and then drench it with oil and other condiments and make the subs soggy. At Giovanni?s, he puts Balsamic vinegarette, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella on the sandwich and the Italian bread, till this day I don?t know where he gets it. It?s kind of toasty on the outside but soft in the middle. It just compliments the sandwich. And he has many sandwich options. All in all, the place is great.

These sandwiches are incredible! The bread is fluffy, crunchy, and perfectly soft. Everything is fresh and beautifully layered. Thank you for the potato salad, the macaroni salad (my favorite!), and the delicious mousse cake, Giovanni! We’ll definitely be back next time!
