What Anonym dislikes about Solou:
I had a reservation for 7:30, but there wasn't any space available until after 8, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. The waiter kept referring to me as "darling," which felt inappropriate, especially since I was with a friend. We went there for restaurant week, but they had run out of dessert and offered us a different one for an extra $5, which seemed odd since we had already paid for the meal. I also didn't get t... I visited this restaurant for my birthday brunch, and I'm so glad I chose it! The service was excellent! I can’t recall our server's name, but he was a charming redhead who was incredibly friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
I want to begin by saying that the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent! A special shoutout to our waiter, Cody; he was incredibly nice and friendly. However, I wouldn't recommend the shrimp and grits. The dish didn’t look like traditional grits; it resembled more of a soup or stew. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the taste at all. Fortunately, I was able to switch it to the chicken and waffles, which were really good!
This is the second time I've reserved a table on the patio only to be seated inside. I understand it was a busy holiday night, but I made my reservation weeks in advance. It's frustrating that I couldn't be accommodated. If the option to sit outside is available when making a reservation, then those who choose it should be seated outside.
Everything from start to finish was lovely. As a restaurant manager—I don't get to “be the guest” often—especially on Valentine's Day—so celebrating not only Vday, but also my Bday, with my parents was a super special occasion. We drove in from Lafayette for a concert—so we had limited time, which I know can be difficult. Trey was super accommodating over the phone. Chaz was an amazing server. The table touch by the manager was much appreciated. I was truly impressed and very delighted to be treated so graciously.
