Diners frequently highlight exceptional service, with attentive staff enhancing the overall experience. While certain dishes like the crab cakes and chargrilled oysters receive rave reviews, others, such as the debris poboy and some desserts, fall short in quality and flavor. The unique addition of a robot server adds a fun twist, but concerns about menu pricing and dish consistency linger. Overall, while some patrons are eager to return, others are hesitant, questioning the restaurant’s long-term viability in a competitive market.
My experience at Rouj was wonderful! Our waiter, A**y, was excellent and the restaurant was spotless. They had modern instrumental music playing in the background. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food. We went for lunch and took advantage of the happy hour specials on Fridays, although it did not extend to the whole bar area. We ordered an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The Eggplant Crawfish appetizer was good, but needed salt, which wasn't provided at the table. The Sweet Tea Chicken and Creole Seafood Roll sandwiches were delicious, but the bread could have been softer. The sandwiches came with tasty shoestring fries. The sugar cane spice cake for dessert was a bit disappointing, as it was dense and not very moist. Despite this, I would still recommend Rouj Creole as a dining option.
Yummy! Situated in Perkins Rowe, there is plenty of parking available nearby. They offer a fantastic happy hour with half-priced appetizers and reasonably priced cocktails. Despite the extra charge, I tried the most amazing lemon drop. The Sensation Salad is straightforward but satisfying. Excellent service, Henry!
The atmosphere was really nice, our waiter was awesome and very helpful. I had the Chargrilled Oysters as an appetizer and Salmon with garlic potatoes and grilled shrimp as a dish. Both were delicious. I also sampled a little of their Crab Cake Maisonand it was also very good. I would definitely return to try other menu items.
The servers were outstanding. I had a great dining experience. The food was delicious and they were very accommodating with food allergies. Server Dorian showed a high level of professionalism throughout my visit.
I really enjoyed myself. The place was packed so I suggest making reservations if you decide to try them out. The dinner was really good, I wanted to try something a little different and I got the PERI PERI QUAIL. I was not disappointed I woulddefinitely order it again. The flavors were rich with a hint of spice and the meal was very filling. For dessert I got the breadpudding, which was delicious, and I?m normally not a huge fan of the dish. So I know we?re to go if I want a good dessert aswell. If your looking to try something different and not step too far out of your comfort zone I recommend going to ROUJ.
