★ 4.4 / 5 from 2040 reviews

Nestled in Baton Rouge, this restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and a menu that has garnered a mix of praise and critique. Diners frequently highlight exceptional service, with attentive staff enhancing the overall experience. While certain dishes like the crab cakes and chargrilled oysters receive rave reviews, others, such as the debris poboy and some desserts, fall short in quality and flavor. The unique addition of a robot server adds a fun twist, but concerns about menu pricing and dish consistency linger. Overall, while some patrons are eager to return, others are hesitant, questioning the restaurant’s long-term viability in a competitive market.

My husband and I went to Rouj Creole for the first time for a date night. We arrived early for our reservation, but we were immediately seated. We ordered the crab cakes, baked brie, filet mignon, peri peri quail, pepperjack grits and apple pie nachos. I really enjoyed the baked brie and my quail was full of flavor. My husband said the crab cakes were okay and the steak was good. The pepperjack grits were a little dry and lumpy, like mashed potato (we were expecting grits that were softer and more runny , I guess). The apple pie was amazing, though we were surprised that the apple in it was really soft and not more what we expect from a true apple pie. Our server was attentive and helpful. There was music playing rather loudly, and that 's one feature that we noted. It made talking/hearing a little difficult, but I can see some people be drawn to that lively, busy atmosphere. Overall, it was a good dinner with great service.

Overpriced, slow service and just plain gross! Second time going, tried to give it a second chance, HUGE MISTAKE!

Always great for a quick business lunch or just sharing a meal with friends. Best 'lunch special ' in town! Fish with salad and side for only $25. Cant beat it!

Another delicious Sunday brunch with excellent service!!

Too noisy. Creamed spinach was cold on appetizer. Lemon drop martini was not the best and very weak. Too expensive weak pot on vodka
