I had a fantastic experience with their Sunday roast, and the service was both friendly and welcoming. It's great to see that they allow dogs in the bar area, and there's an excellent selection of beer and lager. I would definitely recommend this place! The menu may be small, but it offers plenty of variety, including numerous vegan and vegetarian options.
The food here is excellent. They offer lunchtime specials that include a lighter meal and a drink. The desserts are fantastic as well. We received a warm welcome and experienced great service the entire time. I will definitely return. They also have several rooms available for those in need of accommodation.
**Food:** Overall, the food was quite good; however, I was disappointed to find that the Yorkshire pudding was frozen. Given the menu prices, which are on the higher side (for example, £18.95 for pork or chicken and £20.50 for beef), I expected everything to be freshly made. The roast potatoes, on the other hand, were excellent, and I highly recommend ordering an extra side of them! **Service:** This aspect is a bit tricky. While the service was attentive and there was nothing wrong with it, I noticed that some of the young staff members seemed a bit nervous and were not very conversational, even when I tried to engage them in chat. **Atmosphere:** This pub perfectly embodies the quintessential British pub experience! It’s dog-friendly with decent food and a good pint. The locals (or so I assume) were friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe.
I popped in for lunch with a friend for lunch a few weeks ago and was so impressed I went for dinner there this evening with my husband. The food was incredible, and it was lovely sitting by the fire. Last time I ate here was years ago and it was terrible.new ownership has certainly turned it around and we will be back soon!
