Set next to Pulteney Bridge in central Bath, this cafe offers a good range of choices for breakfast from traditional full English to more continental options. In addition a good choice of hot and cold drinks are available. Service is very friendly and welcoming. Prices are good value for money. Worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Arnau Calvo doesn't like about Pulteney Bridge Restaurant:
we arrived ten minutes early so we were happy to wait, but outside the restaurant for half an hour. eating was ok, but nothing special, service was unfriendly and we felt rushed to go. better restaurants nearby. View all feedback.
The breakfast food was fine, in fact good and good value. However, the man presiding over the place seemed incredibly uncustomer focused, verging on the rude.
Very very disappointed, As a couple regularly visiting Bath, we decided to get in early for the Christmas market, freezing cold we walked and sat down at a table, took our coats off and proceeded to order two coffees, only to be very rudely ordered to leave as they're only serving breakfast, no signage to say, plus very embarrassed to be escorted out. There was 5 empty tables around, soooooo rude, the owner was extremely lucky there were children sitting around, as it could've be a different reaction from myself, at 56 years old, I've never been escorted out of a cafe because all I wanted was a coffee, avoid at all costs.
I popped in for a Full English Breakfast this week. It was nice visiting. Service was quick and friendly. A very nice view and good location just a few steps from the Pulteney Bridge. I will try their pasta for lunch next time!
My friend l have been meeting in the Pulteney cafe for about a year, to have morning coffee arriving back later for lunch we have always been greeted in a friendly welcoming manner, by ‘ Meedo’ until yesterday, when l arrived before my friend, l asked for a coffee, but was told by a very aggressive rude man, l couldn’t have coffee or tea unless l was having breakfast. His whole manner was disgusting!! My friend l came back a short while later as she couldn’t believe it….As we told him in a polite way it’s ridiculous it’s on the window that they serve tea coffee…..how he spoke to us was shocking, saying he was the manager he’ll do as he likes told us to get out …Why is he even running a cafe’ if not to put money in the til, absolutely no manners, whatsoever, made us wonder if he dared speak to a man like that !! So was so pleased to read that many others experienced the same…..We went across the road to The Bridge Cafe what a difference, excellent restaurants cafes in Bath to visit, as Bath residents ourselves, awful to think people visiting are treated by an arrogant person like him !!!!!!
Awful experience. Extremely rude and arrogant man behind the counter. No manners at all. Avoid at all costs.
