Contribute FeedbackThe Marlborough Tavern in Bath offers a mixed dining experience according to recent reviews. While some patrons found the food to be good, particularly enjoying the Sunday roast and the gluten-free options available, others felt that the prices were a bit high given the quality. The service was also noted to be hit and miss, with varying levels of attentiveness and waiting times. The atmosphere was mentioned as a bit challenging due to noise levels and poor acoustics. Despite the mixed reviews, the staff were generally praised for being welcoming and knowledgeable, and the cocktails and wine were highlighted as particularly enjoyable. Overall, The Marlborough Tavern seems to offer a nice place for food and drinks, with some room for improvement in consistency and pricing.
Really delicious eating, nice atmosphere, great staff, although sometimes service can be a bit slow.
Great culinary experience in the marlborough tavern. great Sunday roast one of the best ive had plus very friendly and attentive service. would definitely recommend.
Lunch was okay, not as good as our last visit. We were in a remote table away from everyone else, so no real chance to participate in any “vibe”. Took a chance on the roast beef and it was variable, lots of it, but lots of it way too pink. Starters were very good (carrot+orange soup and salt+pepper squid), Yorkshire pud was good and roasties were excellent but only 3 each ? Spent a few bob on a decent Red, and it was ….decent but no more. Will probably go elsewhere from now on when we visit Bath.
We enjoyed eating at The Marlborough Tavern in Bath. However, we did have to wait for our different orders to come through so, as there were 4 of us, it did mean some meals were getting cold. The service was variable one waitress was very accommodating but not so sure about the other. We found the prices pretty elevated to be honest considering the food was good but not outstanding really. The noise level was definitely challenging. We think it's the general poor level of acoustics in the room. Overall, it was a nice evening but that was more down to seeing old friends than the dining experience.
We had booked a table for three and arrived on time, we went for the bar and were warmly welcomed and sitting on our table, we were then forgotten, after all my wife approached the bar to ask if it was table service and she was surprisingly told that it was, then we had taken our orders, and these came quickly, as our main thing, we had ordered the bread card, which was good for money, for the main course we ordered
