I absolutely adore this place! The food is extraordinary and constantly changing, and the wine selection is fantastic, curated by people who truly know their stuff. Don’t expect a lengthy wine list; instead, just tell them what you’re in the mood for and listen to their recommendations. They offer wines by the glass that are priced at no more than the equivalent of a bottle. Simply superb!
I do wish that customers valued the staff more and didn’t spend their time ordering diet cola—this is a place for a true wine experience, and if that’s not what you’re after, there are plenty of other options out there. I would also love to see more music that complements the ambiance; some casual French jazz could help create a more relaxed atmosphere. For those who appreciate the finer things in life, this is undoubtedly the right place to visit.
I had a lovely lunch here today, accompanied by a few glasses of wine. I tried the shrimp, cabbage, and pumpkin small plates, all of which were delicious. The price was very reasonable considering the quality. The atmosphere was wonderful—beautiful and relaxed. The staff was knowledgeable about both the wine and the food and were happy to discuss the options. We could see the chef at work in the small kitchen, which was impressive. We will definitely be returning!
One of the best wine and food experiences of all time. the corkage model of choice wine producers paired with fantastic (small-medium-sized) fresh local products, boiled to perfection is a true joy. not only that the quality of the personal service and attention detail is exceptional, taking into account the price per head.
The best wine bar in Bath and one of my favorites I have been to anywhere. I've had to edit my review as I didn't feel my previous one-liner did Corkage justice. Marty, behind the bar, has an incredibly knowledge of wine and is always happy to help recommend wines based on your own preferences and does so in a friendly way and never patronizing or condescending. We've never eaten here but I hear that Richard in the kitchen produces some wonderful dishes, they've certainly looked and smelled great when they've gone past! Following the success of this place, they have opened a second venue on Queen's Square. Corkage is one of those places that you just love to see flourish and prosper.
