It was a Monday night I'd been let down by the other pub in the village not serving food . The landlady rustled me up pie and mash , very tasty and generous portion , nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was extremely friendly . Lovely pub which I would recommend visiting . What G1587UGpeterb doesn't like about The Crown:
Revisited after not being to this village for a couple of years. Disappointed at the loss of the choice of a local beer but a nice pint of Timothy Taylor. Unfortunately the pub was cold and keeping coats on was necessary . No food available and stand in barman stated no chef employed at present. Persistent and loud swearing from local men in the bar area made the atmosphere unpleasant for my family . No owner or mana... View all feedback.
We reserved a spot at The Crown for a memorial service for my late father, as it was one of his favorite pubs from years ago. Although the pub had recently changed ownership, the new owners went above and beyond to accommodate us. The booking process was seamless and they were more than willing to fulfill any requests to ensure the day went smoothly. They organized a fantastic buffet for the occasion, which was not only generous but also great value for money. The homemade pizzas were particularly popular among the guests. The venue itself is pleasant, clean, and well-stocked. There is also a fantastic children's play area and a lovely beer garden out the back, perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon. We will definitely be returning for a drink or meal and are excited to see the new team continue to improve and grow the business.
This pub is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and great value for money. The landlady was so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was lovely, and I appreciate that it is child and dog friendly. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family and will be returning soon.
My daughter and I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The menu had a great variety of choices and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, especially for families with children. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant was pet-friendly, as a customer even brought their dog along. The food portions were generous - I enjoyed the lasagna with chips and garlic bread, while my daughter had a hot dog that was only £1 for the half term special. We finished our meal with delicious desserts, including banoffee pie and chocolate brownie. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant throughout the year.
Me and a mate stopped for a pint but soon realised this was a family pub and full of kids. A decent enough service here but in the end not for us so moved on to the nearby Compass. which had a better vibe.
Not a pub for grown ups or a quiet pint since the beer garden is over run by noisy children. The outdoor area also faces a car park and lacks atmosphere.
