As a matter of fact, Zirakpur is adjacent to Chandigarh. For that matter, if you are traveling from Delhi to Chandigarh by road, it comes before Chandigarh. The place is quite near to Chandigarh Airport too. That is the reason for its popularity among residents of Zirakpur, Chandigarh, and people traveling to Chandigarh (or Zirakpur). In fact, the accessibility is quite easy whether you are traveling by road or by air. Zaranj in the Pashto language is a feminine name in Afghanistan.As a matter of fact, Zaranj is also the name of a city in southwestern Afghanistan which lies near the border with Iran. It denotes a water land or a delta. It has a historical connection with India as it was known as ‘little India’ or ‘kuchak-e-hind’. Well, coming back to the restaurant in Park Plaza Zirakpur. It carries a street-look ambiance, In fact, that makes it quite magical, energetic and lively. This is on the second floor of the hotel. It is an Indian specialty restaurant. You will love the traditional delicacies that are rich in flavor. In fact, the recipes range from Lahori Street Food to various street foods of India including the modern-day Punjabi delicacies. As you enter Zaranj, there is a large table on your right. And in fact, that table makes you center of attraction.The Chef Special Hall Gate Ki Talli Macchi is fabulous. But more than that is Tandoori Jheenga. So if you are a non-veg, you must try these two specialties in starters. Similarly, in veg, you can go for Dahi Ke Kebab and Tandoori Khumb that comes with Pudine Ki Chutney. In the main course, try Balti Meat or Meat Beliram. Both are delicious. And don’t miss Lahori Keema Naan. In veg, my all time favorite is Amritsari Aloo Wadiyan. Finally, in desserts, I will recommend Tille Wali Kulfi and Fruit Rabdi.The name of dishes in the menu is both in English and Punjabi. That speaks itself how popular Zaranj is among localites of Zirakpur and Chandigarh. You will fall in love with its decor, tasty food, and hospitality for sure.

The ambience is perfect for a family dinner or lunch. Although Zaranj does not have its own parking, it should not be a problem because parking is available next to the restaurant. It has a bar, a Chinese food and a multi-kitchen. You can order food from each of these 3 places in the same building. The taste of food is very good. The prices are something on the higher side, but the amount they will offer is also appropriate. Rajesh Pal- one of the stewards was particularly concerned with us when we visited in October 2019. We were a total of 6 and paid around INR 6.6k, containing drinks and appetizers. The average price per person you have to pay is therefore INR 1.1 to 1.5k. A beautiful place with good food. In the entry you can see the list of dignitaries/VIPs that were there that includes people like Amartya Sen, Saurav Ganguly, Shane Warne, Ravi Shastri and many others. That could give you the confidence if my contribution does not.
