What Guoping Feng dislikes about Pasiwo:
I had a mixed green salad and a seafood risotto. Both were very salty. In the seafood risotto, there were not only who shells of clams, but also quite a few broken pieces of shell. I had to be very careful when eating it. The ambiqnce is good over all. View all feedback.

We had pasta, it was a nice meal. Waiters were very friendly. Glad we came, might go back next time in Basel!

Nice terrasse, good lunch menu, an a la carte menu very interesting and very good. Service can be great and very slow.....but I would come again and recommend this restaurant. Quality and quantity go hand in hand
I felt really uncomfortable in this restaurant and I still don’t get the positive reviews but what can I say, maybe we are not the cordon bleu types (because that’s the main choice of this restaurant). We visited around 6 in the evening and it was completely empty giving it a strange vibe in addition to the dated decor and cold floors. Service seemed also a bit off, one waitress going around with super messy hair making it feel like a Hell’s Kitchen episode. Bread was almost stale and the salad was what you get from a super market bag. After some 40’ came our cordon bleus which were the greasiest thing I have ever seen. Of course to each it’s own, so if you are into loads of melted cheese (but loads) you might even enjoy. Fries were what you would get in a McDonald’s. Considering we paid some 90CHF it was a rather unpleasant experience… the only positive was that the outdoors space looked nice for sunny days…
Overall staff and food were good, but one gentleman in particular seemed to be barking orders at the female servers (who tended to roll their eyes in response and who actually seemed quite friendly with customers). From afar it felt a bit like someone had been promoted to lower-management and was now on a bit of a power buzz. Unfortunately for us as guests we did not escape the telling off when it came to payment. Only cash was accepted, until actually card was fine as well. I was physically stopped upon entering the restaurant and asked what I was doing there, as if I’d stumbled into a private family event or snuck into an exclusive VIP area. Decent but slow food, otherwise avoid unless you like your cordon bleu with a side of judgement.
Located away from busy areas but convenient to the free trams and buses for visitors. Prices seemed reasonable for Switzerland and as weather was good decided to sit outside. Ordered to Cordon bleu classics and two large beers. Beer served up promptly and happy to wait for the food. When it arrived the portions were huge and served with ample chips, cutting into the meat the cheese oozed out in huge quantities. Extremely filling and very tasty. Not cheap by UK standards £29pp but deemed good value for this expensive city.
My husband and I have been here twice in the last week! The terrace is nice and atmospheric. The food is good and well priced (personally I had on both occasions one of the best pork schnitzels I’ve had in Switzerland). But the best element is the service the waiters are friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend and will be back soon!
