Description

Pops has quickly garnered attention, presenting a mixed bag of experiences that sway between dissatisfaction and delight. While some patrons lamented over spicy dishes, questionable cooking, and hidden upcharges, others raved about the welcoming atmosphere and delectable offerings like pot roast and fried catfish. Service quality varied, with some instances highlighting friendly, attentive staff, while others noted a lack of responsiveness. Desserts like the brownie sundae and unique offerings such as the pepper jack bacon burger won praise. Overall, Pops seems to be a place of contrast, leaving guests hopeful for improvements amidst its commendable aspects.

We were so pleased that we chose to visit this restaurant, and we were even more delighted by the delicious food we encountered. We were so eager to start eating that we completely forgot to take any pictures! The fried green tomatoes were outstanding, and the fried chicken dinner, complete with mac and cheese and coleslaw, was also very flavorful. The fried catfish was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful batter. For dessert, we indulged in the caramel cake and ice cream, which were both delightful. We highly recommend this place; it was spotless, and our waitress was excellent. We will definitely be returning the next time we're in the area.

I wanted to rate this restaurant with 5 stars because I met one of the managers and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I decided to order the Daily Special since I wasn't well-acquainted with chopped steak. When I got home and tasted it, I was pleasantly surprised. It was reminiscent of homemade Salisbury Steak, accompanied by two delicious rolls and two types of gravy. The chopped steak even had a strip of bacon wrapped around it. Overall, everything was fantastic, except for the chopped steak itself. I had initially intended to try the roast, but the chopped steak caught my attention on Google Maps. Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return to try their pot roast in the future. Be sure to check out their website for the menu instead of trying to browse it here.

I recently ordered my favorite meal from Pop's which included chicken livers, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. Everything was delicious except for the cabbage. Sadly, it looked and tasted old or burnt this time.

Wow, what an incredible meal I had yesterday from Pops Comfort Food! After my outpatient procedure at the VA, my daughter treated me to their sausage and shrimp gumbo, and it was incredibly delicious. I felt they could have included a bit more rice to balance the amount of gumbo, though. She also ordered the country fried steak, which came with northern beans and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Everything was absolutely fantastic and bursting with flavor. Fantastic job, Pops!

Great food and great portions, as a family of 5 we have lots of options and can try many things and never had a bad meal. I do recommend that if you order pork skins ask for the fresh out of the cooker as the come out hot and still sizzling! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Fried Pickles, Meatloaf, Chicken and Dumplings, Chopped Steak, Fries
