Our baby was crying constantly during our outing with family, so my husband and I were taking turns taking him outside. The waitress offered to take my husband's meal back to keep warm and to bring him a new steak when he was able to sit down to eat. When we were leaving, they gave us a dessert on the house to take home. We've eaten at this location many times before and it is consistently great food. We usually feel... View all feedback.
What Sibyl Fadel doesn't like about The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Barrie:
The food at this restaurant is of high quality, similar to that of The Keg. However, I am always satisfied with my meal. The atmosphere felt more like a fast food restaurant - very loud with no ambiance. Considering the prices are similar to The Keg, I would expect a more relaxed dining experience. If you are looking for a peaceful and enjoyable meal, this may not be the place for you. View all feedback.
Food & service was wonderful! Had a great birthday celebration. Will be back soon.
Even tho it was Mothers Day our table was ready , the service was good, and food was right temperature. We were happy to find that The Lighthouse is now under Open Table for reservations.
Overall, the food was average. The burgers were large, however, you pay a premium for French fries. I would rather they just inflate the price and make French fries standard. The included item is potato chips. My mom and daughter had the burgers and said they were pretty good. I had the stuffed shrimp, which didn't have a lot of flavor. I could tell I was eating shrimp and crab, but there wasn't much flavor. The portion was four stuffed shrimp. However, the shrimp were of the medium variety that I would buy at my local market. They were ripped with a tablespoon size crab ball. I had to pay a premium for cheese on my potato. This dish was $29, which I was prepared to pay, but was disappointed when it came out. Or meal was $95 (including a 15% tip). I'd also like to add we all had water to drink. I think the bill was a tad too much when two people in my party had a burger. The best part was dining outside right at the water. I drove from central Virginia to dine there, and am not sure if do it again. Just so so.
Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water.
Took my daddy for the first time for Father's Day and he loved it! !!!
