Great friendly waitress, we mentioned pancake was cold butter wouldn't even melt on it so she had a fresh new one made everything else was great. We figure pancake was made left sitting. View all feedback.

What Megan Olson dislikes about Lazy Bear Grill:
My husband and I stopped here on our way home from a cabin in BWCA with our small newborn to get lunch, as we had always wanted to stop and eat here. We were acknowledged that we were waiting and there was 2 of us and then my husband took our baby to change him while I stood in line. I waited while two groups ahead were sat and then was ignored as I waited. I overheard the staff discuss that everyone had been seated... View all feedback.

A very good little cafe restaurant. Food was fresh and delicious. Gift store downstairs is really large, with lots of Minnesota themed items

Scratch made anything easily lands this place into a category beyond Grill . They roast their own coffee beans in the lobby! Excellent food, prepared very well, very quickly. There 's a lot to this place that sets it apart from other opportunities on I 35. The French toast is by far the best I 'd had in years. This establishment, last I heard, is in need of a Baker. What an excellent opportunity for a young person to learn from the best. With the opportunity to learn a valuable skill here and continue baking at a high standard and build a personal reputation, it 'd be hard to find other work opportunities to make dough while learning how to get your cake and eat it too. Good job management staff hopefully you 'll be around a long time to show others how it 's done!

First time stopping there. Won't be my last. I had a hankering for biscuits and gravy what with their advertising great breakfast all day. Was disappointed to not find it on the menu... however for some reason I thought I'd ask my waitress about it anyway. Well lo and behold she said it's not on the menu but it's in the computer system! So good and really hit the spot... incredibly filling too. Service was great as well and the gift shop fun to look around. I'll be back!

Look, it's not going to compare to a 5-star rating restaurants in a major Metro, but if you're making the drive between Duluth and the twin cities on I-35 and new looking for a great place to stop for lunch or maybe dinner, this is probably your best choice. Delicious Reuben, friendly service, and a great view from the dining area. You won't regret stopping here.

I love this place. I always get the Wild rice meatloaf dinner, cranberry coleslaw, mash potatoes and cranberry (homemade) bun. I was hiking and drove 50 miles extra(round trip) just to have this wonderful meal!

Out for a little adventure and stopped into Lazy Bear for lunch! We went Swedish and had dessert first! Tried a delish strawberry rhubarb pie with nice chunks of fruit! Also tried the butterscotch (which wasn't top on my list cuz I thought itwould be too sweet) and was pleasantly surprised! Perfect amount of praline crust n sweet butterscotch cream! Also shared thatday was a huge, yummy burger and the wild rice meatloaf! I must say the cranberry dinner rolls with butter are DELECTABLE andwas crying on the way home for not picking up a pack of them! Last but not least, the staff was super! Very fast and courteous!

Super good! Very spendy, tip is automatically taken out of bill at 20% and spread amongst staff. Quality food, French toast is the bomb.

We stopped at Lazy Bear Grill on our way back from Duluth, intrigued by the impressive statue out front. When we arrived, we learned that all the meals are homemade, yet the prices were surprisingly affordable—unlike many from-scratch restaurants that often charge more since they don’t use frozen ingredients. The menu offered a great variety, including comfort food and all-day breakfast options. Our food came out quickly and tasted fantastic. I chose the small plate wild rice meatloaf with mashed potatoes and was completely satisfied. The gift shop was spacious and stocked with unique, tasteful items—not at all cheesy. Our red-haired waitress gave excellent, friendly service, though I wish I had gotten her name. I highly recommend stopping here for a wonderful meal and a cozy atmosphere—definitely a 10 out of 10!

More restaurants should be like Lazy Bear Grill. Their menu offers a wonderful variety of fantastic homemade dishes. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the food is always top-notch. Their breakfast selection is outstanding—my favorite is the homemade hash brown scramble, especially when enjoyed with a cup of coffee brewed from their house-roasted beans. You can easily spend hours exploring their unique gift shop, which boasts an impressive collection of truly special items. Plus, they serve delicious hand-scooped ice cream!
