Wards Fish Chips - Barnsley
Wards Fish Chips
Description
A traditional chip shop with mixed reviews, this place has loyal customers who appreciate their old-fashioned cooking style and friendly staff. However, recent reviews mention small, greasy portions and unprofessional behavior from the staff. Some visitors were disappointed with the quality of the fish and chips, describing them as too greasy or even inedible. While the atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly for some, others have had less than stellar experiences. Overall, it seems that this restaurant could use some improvement in consistency and customer service. Visitors may want to consider other chippies in town.

Really great tasting fish and chips! Fish has uniquely thin crispy batter that I've never tasted before. Shop has a little cafe around the back where you can sit down and relax instead of having to eat outside or take-away. Great value too.
Great fish , chip take-a-way. There fish always fresh, tasty , and the batter is delicious.portion size very generous, Chips very good ,always high standard, never had a bad meal from this shop. Highly recommend.
Brilliant old fashioned fish and chip shop with the option of dining in.We arrived after a fairly long drive. We had fish and chips and a mug of tea each. All was perfect would definite go there again
This charming fish and chip shop with a cozy dining area in the back has a nostalgic feel. I highly recommend it and would definitely return again.
Called at teatime today, fish slice and sausage refried from lunch yuk. Fish slice was nearly black in colour after a second refry. Chips greasy and inedible, fat should have been changed…last year! Offered the dog most of them but she wasn’t keen either. It’s like visiting something stuck in time. Place is filthy. Avoid as there are other chippies in the town.
