Visitors enjoy an impressive selection of gins and traditional meals, particularly praising the roast pork and homemade Yorkshire pudding. However, there are notable inconsistencies; complaints about undercooked or poorly presented dishes, such as the mushroom risotto and lukewarm meals, highlight a struggle with food quality. While some diners celebrate the inviting service and cleanliness, others express disappointment and reluctance to return. Overall, The Green Dragon offers a blend of delightful and disappointing experiences, leaving diners divided.
I booked a table for Eat Out to Help Out at this restaurant for the first time, but unfortunately it will also be the last. One of our meals was served on a bread/chopping board, which had lots of deep cuts on the wood and was not acceptable. We asked for a plate instead. However, I must say that the gammon meal was very good. The mushroom risotto, on the other hand, was tasteless and gloopy. We were pleased that it was half priced. We found the menu to be very limited and not suited for those who enjoy pub grub.
I highly recommend this charming family-run pub. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and delicious, freshly cooked food. The variety of gins available is fantastic - I tried the apple and rhubarb flavor while my partner enjoyed a cask ale. The pub is kept clean with regular sanitization of tables and the bar, especially important during Covid. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful pub.
I went to this restaurant for a quick meal and found that they had a good selection of alcohol. However, the food was only average. Unfortunately, my burger was undercooked and as I am 7 months pregnant, I had to send it back. The staff was apologetic and removed it from the bill. Another member of the group ordered the mushroom risotto, which was a sticky mess and tasted terrible. Despite the apologies for the burger, overall the food was average and we do not plan on returning.
Walked in the staff was mingling about ordered my meal and drinks you would have thought it was unerversity challenge when the meal came out one at a time in five minutes intervals every thing was cold undercooked I wasn’t satisfied and asked for my money back she only gave me my money back the food was really bad couldn’t believe how bad it was I didn’t even get an apology and they are saying they are taking orders for Christmas they mus be having a laugh I would never go back there again I don’t know if it has been taken over but very very bad
Sent food back in was colt to look warm returned after being put in microwave the turkey was already dry /no friendly atmosphere use to be a regular will not be going back until things improve
