The coffee house is lovely,... read more I can confidently say that this is the best breakfast I have ever had! It surpasses any breakfast I have had at a hotel cafe before. The coffee house is lovely, with a great menu, decor, and very friendly staff. I will definitely be returning to the Old George next time I am in Barnsley.

I found myself in Barnsley so checked Google to find the best breakfast in town , The old George Coffee House seemed to be popular so i gave it a try, £15.40 it... read more I found myself in Barnsley so checked Google to find the best breakfast in town , The old George Coffee House seemed to be popular so i gave it a try, £15.40 it cost me with a cappuccino. i didn’t look at the menu and ordered a full breakfast which they call “ The George “ . . MY VERDICT so it was a rather “posh” slightly pretentious looking breakfast, ingredients were all high end and presentation was good the beans were the thing thats stood out for me, almost a BBQ smokey flavours, the coffee was really good also much better that the chains coffee shops….! . . Being picky it could have been much hotter, the sausage was meaty a little dry and rather anaemic, the bacon was beyond crispy and no butter came with the warm bread that was ever so slightly toasted. . . I am sure there are better breakfast to be had in Barnsley

I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future.
