Was Anonym at Toolans a mag?

This is by far the best Irish pub I have found in London. It will be hard to find another one that can compare to the welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service provided by owners Nancy, and bar staff Mai and Danielle. The food is delicious, homemade, and a great value for the price. The beer selection is always top-notch, and the patrons are friendly and welcoming. What Anonym dislikes about Toolans:

Poor. Judging by the flags and the multiple TV screens you’d think it fancies itself as a bit of a sports pub. Yet on a Sunday lunchtime was told “no sound for your game as it’s not a big enough game”. When I pointed out that my friend I were two of only three people in the entire pub, and that it was a big game for us, we were then told “the more you ask for it, the less likely I am to put it on for you”. If you're looking for a great pint in Finchley, this is the place to go. The only downside is that they do not have a front bar, but nothing can replace the great memories made at 15q foot on High St in Trim. Slan.

A big thank you to Nancy and the friendly staff for creating such a welcoming atmosphere at this pub. We always have a fantastic time here. I highly recommend trying the Irish stew.

We had a wonderful time dining at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

The best bar in the north of a rural! friendly staff regularly sound big crapie ugly zehenblatt

Great pub ,,,great Irish stew ,,, definitely needs a Celtic plaque on the walls !

Nestled in the heart of London's pub scene, Toolans offers a traditional Irish atmosphere heightened by friendly staff and cozy décor. While many patrons appreciate the inviting vibe, showcasing trivia nights and live music, the crowd skews predominantly middle-aged men, often detracting from its appeal.

Despite some rave reviews praising the delicious Irish stew and accommodating service, issues with staff behavior have surfaced, including instances of rudeness and unprofessionalism, leaving some customers disheartened. With potential for improvement in management practices, Toolans presents a varied experience—one that patrons should approach with tempered expectations.

I went to this pub yesterday during the day, and they were very accommodating in putting on the TV channel we requested. The service at the bar was quick and very friendly, and it was also available at our table. I haven't been here in years, but I met up with some friends. The pub is much cleaner than it used to be, and the customer clientele is of the right age for a pub atmosphere. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone in the area to visit.

One of the bartenders also acted strangely, drinking shots and mocking elderly customers, including myself, in a disrespectful manner. He even sprayed a customer with soda water for no reason, leaving them wet. Some people questioned if he was under the influence of something due to his erratic and bizarre behavior. The way the management handled the situation was disgusting. I am an older gentleman who used to frequent the restaurant but will not be returning. The standards have clearly declined since the previous owner left. Management should not behave in such a vile manner and should have handled the situation professionally. The manager continued to attack customers even as they were trying to leave, with the female manager following them onto the street while shouting. This behavior was low class and unacceptable. It is clear that these individuals need training on how to manage situations properly. Avoid this establishment at all costs and seek out more civilized pubs in the area.

We visited Toolans on Finchley High Road last week in hopes of catching up with old friends. We had frequented this pub over the years when Nancy ran it, even though we had left London 19 years ago. It was disappointing to see the decline in the pub since she sold it. When we attempted to enter around 10.30pm, a woman behind the bar rudely informed us that there was no more entry and then ignored us. We decided to give it another chance the following evening, but were met with the same unfriendly service. The lack of engagement from the staff and the deserted atmosphere made us leave after just one drink. It was evident that the current owners had no interest in building relationships with customers or attracting new business. It is a shame to see a once successful establishment deteriorate due to the poor management. We will not be returning and suggest that they consider selling the pub to someone who cares about its success.

This Irish-themed pub is well-maintained and has a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. The beer selection is good, the management is welcoming, and there is traditional Irish music played at times.

This pub is excellent with a wide selection of beers to choose from. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly.

Nice pint of Guinness with great company it's always nice to visit Toolans very friendly pub.

Such a beautiful place with awesome live band. They played the Irish anthem so beautifully well. I enjoyed the vibes and the dance. I'm definitely going back again. They do live performances every Wednesday from 5pm and Sundays 8pm so it is the best time to visit.

We had an amazing night at this fantastic Irish pub with delicious food, live music, and great company.

The service at this restaurant is wonderful, always with a smile! This cozy Irish pub is very traditional and has all the sports games on. It was a pleasant experience to walk in and feel like a regular customer, even though I had never been there before.

Really lovely pub with a great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Thanks so much for looking after us this weekend. We had an amazing time.

This restaurant is a charming and welcoming spot to enjoy a drink. They offer a limited selection of main courses, but I highly recommend trying the chicken curry - it was delicious. The staff are very friendly, and I believe they are Irish. There is seating available outside in both the front and rear of the restaurant.

I went to Toolan's last night with my friends for a drink and meal. The food was delicious and apparently homemade. There was a live musician who was fantastic, we ended up dancing and having a great time. The barmaids were busy but still friendly, and we didn't have to wait long to be served despite the crowd. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we're planning to go back next weekend as well.

Toolans is not the most exciting spot for a drink. Despite their efforts to spice things up with trivia and live music, the patrons are usually seen as drunk old men who have been there for hours on end. The outdoor smoking area is a nice touch, and the staff are usually friendly. However, it's disheartening that the crowd tends to consist of mostly middle-aged to elderly men with little diversity. In terms of décor and beverage choices, Toolans is pretty standard for an Irish pub in London.

Had an enjoyable afternoon watching football and having a few pints. Lots of televisions, good quality big screens and pleasant bar staff served an excellent choice of beers. Would go there again to watch football.

The staff and manager need to go on a course how to deal with the public. If the manager is as rude as what she was to me to all her non regular customers it won't be long before this pub closes. The young girl behind the bar (blonde hair, wouldn't give me her name) was so rude and it seems anti English. Why on earth do a job you clearly cannot and don't like doing, give it to someone who would want the job!
