Our second visit with friends. Very good value. What was a good restaurant anyway is now improved with the new ownership. Lots of good choices including several interesting vegetarian options if you want. What Acoburndavis doesn't like about Mezem:
Came for my grandma's 80th, there was around 30 of us there so obviously a lot to cater for, but the food was standard, dips and stuffed vine leaves with pitta bread to start and a mixed meat grill for main. Everything was standard, main wasn't great served with a large bit of plain rice and no sauce so quite dry.Nothing special. View all feedback.

A friend and I were looking for a meal at a restaurant in East Finchley, on a weekend night and I found Yiannis restaurant that had been recently reopened under this management and we chose from the snacks of menu of humus and salad, both very fresh and tasty, and of course the main kleftiko with rice. This dish was very well prepared, the lamb was so tender that the bone fell and, in fact, the portion was generous. The staff was very helpful and made us feel welcome! We had no room for dessert!
The restaurant is now known as Yiannis Restaurant and specializes in Greek cuisine. The food is excellent, with homemade dishes prepared by Yiannis himself.
Good selection of many traditional Mediterranean dishes from the east. rations are abundant, well presented and everything was very good. The service especially from the new owner was very lawful. It was a little quiet in the middle of the week the night we went, which was a shame because Mezem deserves to be successful.
We visited in a quiet night in the middle of a week without reservation and it was not a problem. We were received by a friendly staff and sat immediately.
