I was staying in Barmera and noticed while passing there always seemed to be people going in and out of the bakery. Needing some rolls and buns for later eating I eventually visited the shop to find a good variety of bakery products, and very friendly and obliging staff. As I left the shop with my chosen products I reflected that the cost was considerably less than my local city bakeries. The rolls were impressively... View all feedback.

Coffee was awful and my toasted sandwiches had minimal filling and lots of bread. My wife's pasty was cold - she sent it back to be re heated . The food was very good and the staff were very friendly. They welcomed us and thank us for visiting their bakery. You could not find a more friendlier atmosphere than this one.
Finally...STEAK AND KIDNEY PIES. Can't find them anywhere else. Delicious as was the coffee and the cream bun thingy. Service was fast and efficient
I am biased when commenting on Barmera Bakery, because my parents used to own it, and I worked there as a child, over 65 years ago. My Father had the reputation of making the best pasties in the Riverland. Today Barmera Bakery keeps the tradition, their pasties are excellent and the cakes and buns are pretty good, too.
Lovely fresh sandwiches with plenty of filling were a welcome change from the usual jot food selection which also looked tempting
There were no prices visible in the bakery and the bill may come as a shock to some people. The pasties were as good as we remembered from our last visit pre-Covid, however, the ‘steak’ pie, which looked delicious, was anything but. Under the pretty pastry top were a few pieces of hard and inedible meat which floated in a gluggy gravy. The base was undercooked. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to eating a nice country pie.
