I went to gr 10 in september 2018 and made a next trip over the col de tourmalet when I came to le bastan. that was by far my best culinary experience in France... read more I went to gr 10 in september 2018 and made a next trip over the col de tourmalet when I came to le bastan. that was by far my best culinary experience in France. the dinner was delicious and the breakfast was even better than a walker, the manager, oleg, allowed me, my tent on the field behind the restaurant. When the next morning was my birthday, they surprised me with the most wonderful piece of cake I ever tasted. my short stay in le bastan is one of the best highlights during my gr 10 trek. that is the most friendly place where I have been pushed in France. the location is super. the meal was sharp. simply challenging any upscale restaurant. the service was exceptional. if I could rate 10 stars, I would. make them please one and visit this gem of a restaurant on their tour through col de tourmalet. they will not regret it.
