The food is really good and the stuff is nice : good price they close between 16-18 for a Spanish siesta
This local bar is known for its patatas bravas (basically french fries) and they are indeed very tender and tasty. The choice of condiments that one may wish to use to complement the potatoes is rather limited, all their sauces are premixed and dispensed from tubes by the waiters and bar tenders. The rest of the menu is nothing to right home about. Local people come to fill their stomachs in a fast lunch. Needless to say you also should not expect any selection of wines and drinks other than plonk. So if your goal is to experience a not very touristy local feeding operation with tasty patatas bravas you may want to try it.
This is the 2nd time I tried the bravas and I liked them less than the 1st time. Many people say they are THE BEST bravas in Barcelona, but I have to say they could win the spot for WORST BRAVAS. The potatoes are mushy and taste like they have been reheated in the microwave. The sauce is too oily and only tastes like garlic. My stomach was upset after eating them because they were so greasy. I don’t understand why this place is so busy!? Maybe because it’s the only bar open on the street? Sadly we won’t be returning. Señor Vermut has MUCH better bravas.
Did not disappoint. Great Patata Bravas. Good craic. Low cost and high value. In groups is best in my view. Solo is best at the bar.
