Despite the hour (22:30) we were greeted by a lovely man, he was pleasant and attentive throughout and we were served the most gorgeous burger and pasta dishes. Returned today, food was just as good but the front of house service was disappointing and we almost felt like we weren’t welcome! Such a shame, doubt we would have returned has the service been that way on Monday night.

They described Quillo Bar as a genuine place where a lo... read more We visited Quillo Bar on recommendations from staff at the hotel we stayed at in the same neighbourhood. They described Quillo Bar as a genuine place where a lot of locals like to eat, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is quite large inside, but only have a few tables outside. Being lunch time, we were seated at a table for two inside, which we were happy with. We shared four tapas for lunch, which was plenty for us. The gambas al ajillo (shrimp with garlic were delicious, as was the house special tortilla (potato and onion omelette . The croquettes with iberico ham were also very good. For drinks, we had a glass each of the house white, which was a local chardonnay. Also some water and for 'dessert ' a glass of cava each. My favorite was the house white wine, which had a lot of flavour without being to oakey or heavy. It might be handy to know, that if you only want to have drinks, they prefer you sit at the bar counter rather than at a table. The staff were nice and apparently worked very hard to take care of a full restaurant at lunch time. I would gladly eat at Quillo Bar again if we happen to be in the neighbourhood any time in the future.

We went for the music which didn’t start till later but happy to find this place. And the targa de Santiago for desert was memorable

The service was good and the tapas ok but rather big portions for a solo diner. While I was paying my bill another waiter came to my table and as I stood up to leave he decided to give me rather a big, long lasting kiss on my cheek!! No!! I wasn’t consenting !! My waiter looked totally disgusted with him!! I left and didn’t return for 2nds!! Nice food, good service but they really need to teach that waiter how he should behave with solo female customers!!!
