I loved dining and drinking at Bacus! our server was knowledgeable and great at making suggestions for me and my small group. He encouraged us to use our Spanish, which is good but not great. I'd love to go back!
I am from the US but am working in Barcelona. The first day here I ate at Bacus and loved it. The food is excellent but it is clear that they don't like Americans. I got refused service the next two times that I was craving it and it was extremely frustrating and rude. The lady working was rushing me out and saying that it was closed when it was only 7 and there were plenty of people eating. I speak spanish so it wasn't a lack of understanding. I asked when they close and she just said that it is closed now with an attitude.
I am only in Barcelona for a conference and don't have much time. I really wanted tapas and Bacus was near to my hotel and came up in my searches. So pleased I came!! Lovely, well cooked food which was topped off by wonderful service! The guy running the front of house this evening couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Really worth a trip for mid price tapas.
The house of meals is as they themselves are defined. We discovered it after the hospitalization of a family member last summer, a weekend that we ate to the letter and loved it. excellent lamb back at low temperature, among other dishes that we chose and that also got us. We returned one day a week and saw that they had a menu. We tried, and he got us, too. the price was correct and the ratio quality/price very good. We have recently returned, on weekends, and have also had a menu at a higher price than the working days. We ate homemade cantaloupes maybe a little pepper for those who don't get me that I love, they have me a lot. from second we ate varied from which we all order different dishes. The bass in the oven was good. cod with ksanfain also and salt point. the cove rabbit to the comensal seemed somewhat salty and the undersoul of veal was at the point as the applicant had asked. Home desserts are correct. We order Catalan cream, truffles and lemon sorbet. leave your kitchen and the place, the kindness of the bartender and the wines of the house. Sometimes it is time to wait a bit for the order service, but it is ideal to go to eat good food with ingredients of proximity and some dish with a special touch. We'll get it, we recommend it and we'll be back.
