It was the worst lunch in my life. Everything was bad, the tables were dirty, when I asked to clean it, the waiter just cleaned it with a dirty towel leaving dirty marks all other the floor. I waited 21 minutes for the waiter to come, I was told that if I didn’t like it here then I should just leave now, the waiter was so rude, but my children were really hungry and all the places near were packed, so I had no choice but to stay. I ordered a little appetizer for my kids , so they weren’t as hungry, to be able to find another restaurant, then the food came 40 minutes later, as a conclusion we left with no food. If I could put this restaurant in a black list, I would do it.
An enjoyable evening at this small friendly restaurant. Gaspar is a charming attentive host. Both our first courses were utterly delicious . Unfortunately the beef stroganoff was very disappointing four or five large pieces of beef on top of a sauce , not at all the usual stroganoff , and my steak was ok,
We were guest at Gaspar 2 times in june 2014. If you are looking for something that is not only tuna this restaurant is the place to be for me. altough we also loved the tuna Tatar and my wife also loved the tuna specialties , the most amazing thing was the retinto tartaki. Never had something similar in my life and it was almost like.. well, you know how.. ; Service was nice. So was Gaspar himself. A truely recommended place in Zahara.
I first visited Restaurante Gaspar many years ago (15? and was luck enough to return with the family over Easter. I am delighted to say nothing has changed. The eponymous owner and host is as friendly and welcoming as ever. He can also put you onto exactly the right wine (from a remarkably good selection to go with your meal. The food is excellent my favorite was the tuna tartar (the retinto steak version is also great , but locally caught fish and steaks sourced from the local retinto cattle are worth a look. Another plus, as one of my daughters is veggie, was the vegetarian menu choice available in a country (and region that still doesn't really get the concept. I think I described the food as Andalusian fusion on my first visit and review rather pretentious certainly, but a good description. If you want local charm though, don't let that put you off. The best recommendation I can make for Gaspars is that in a village where nearly all the old fishermen's bars have been replaced by over priced, tourist focused flash, the locals still come and drink at the bar. Local flavor, and local food with a touch of international style. The best you'll get in Zahara!
Went here upon strong recommendation. Had an avocado salad and I’m not sure how they got the avocado out of the peel because it was rock hard. They should take this dish off the menu if the produce lacks quality and is not ripe. Main fish dish was ok nothing amazing and finished with cheese cake which again was average. Disappointing in all and would not be rushing back unfortunately.
