We Yum Cha regularly at many restaurants and the Great century is one of the best in Sydney. Their dishes are flavoursome and fresh and at very reasonable prices. The staff are wonderful, professional and friendly. They have 2 levels which means you don't have to wait long for a table.Well worth a visit. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Great Century Restaurant:
when we went there we were herded upstairs although there appeared to be seats downstairs, it was as though you were second class and the last of the yum cha was sent upstairs when those downstairs had taken their pick and the food was pretty much cold. noticable that very few asians were upstairs also. There were three things on special:crab :$19.5/500g,lobster:$49.5/500.peking duck:$29.5. We thought it is really cheap compare to the market price,so we ordered crab and duck. We asked the watress how heavy the crab is, she told me its normally around 1kg,so I said can I have one crab which is around 1kg.later on the waitress told me they only have one left which is 2kg.i was surprised she did not know it five minutes ago.but I still ordered it. Cause I thought even though it is 2 kg,its only $80.but when the bill came, the crab is $98, the waitress said the noodle which came with crab is $15.seriously,there is nowhere mentioned the noodle is $15 more.also the duck is$49.5 instead of $29.5.the watress explained that you are only allowed to have one special! But it did not mention anywhere! I was so disappointed with this restaurant, the whole thing is like a trap! They just try to con as much money as they can from you!!a big congrats!

Very disappointing. Came to eat fresh seafood and saw that there was a Crab Special advertised. Was then told that they had "run out" of the crab for that special (on a Saturday night and a restaurant that only had 3 tables filled- which is either poor planning or a blatant lie). Bought another type of crab. Then asked if we could have the peking duck special instead since the crab special had run out. Told that the crab that we had purchased was being sold to us at "a special price" so we weren't entitled to any other special deals. This "special price" was only mentioned to us conveniently at this stage and there was no record of it anywhere... Food took close to 45mins to come outCrab came out, flavour was OK but crab was lukewarm. I find it hard to believe that freshly cooked crab would be lukewarm so I have my doubts about this place. I did not make a big deal out of this because I was tired of hearing nonsensical excuses by this stage. Also ordered a tofu dish that was too saltyCharged 15 dollars for noodles with crab which was also not mentioned but assume that this is not uncommon thoughWould NEVER come back here again! Poor customer service and too many convenient excuses and general sense of untrustworthiness from this place.

I'm a frequent every week and it has become a family favourite! Delicious fluffy pork buns, and hot egg tarts are some of my favourites. All their flavours are very well balanced. Some tastes are more unique, but they definitely do serve up some tasty dishes! The staff have come to know my family and are very welcoming and warm every time.
