Stopped on the way back from Canada. I had the chicken pot pie and it was delicious. Full of chicken and veggies with a fantastic crust. Very light and flaky. My friend had the thanksgiving sandwich and she raved about it. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. My only complaint is that they do not have the Purple Pie anymore. It was a blueberry pie with a crumble crust and most of the proceeds went to help the... View all feedback.
What lazy bones doesn't like about Dysart's Travel Stop Broadway:
I visited Broadway Diner at 1:20pm and was seated at 1:25, but that was the last time I interacted with an employee. Despite several staff members walking by, none acknowledged me or stopped to assist. After waiting for fifteen minutes, I decided to leave. The restaurant is just okay. The food is very average and you won't get anything beyond the basics in terms of cooking. If you enjoy IHop, you might find this place satisfactory.
I have never had any issues at this restaurant before, even when it has been very busy. However, during my visit today, the restaurant was not very busy but the staff seemed to be struggling to seat parties and the kitchen was having trouble getting food out on time. Furthermore, some items we ordered were not available and our server was not informed until after we had placed our order. When I received my Dave's Famous Hash, I found that the hash was dry and overly salty, the hash browns were oily (home fries were not available), and the beans were undercooked with a sauce lacking flavor and proper thickening. It appears that they were short-staffed, which I sympathize with. Nevertheless, this particular experience was unacceptable and I hope that the issues leading to it are addressed promptly.
Breakfast was not a good experience. My husband ordered poached eggs and hash. Eggs came out hard boiled. He sent them back and they came back only slightly less hard boiled. Hash looked like an unidentifiable meat which was pulverized into pebbles in the food processor. Everything was dry and tasteless. No coffee refills were offered and no fruit was available .
Very friendly and the food was good and hot. They have gluten- free bread and options. The turkey is amazing!
