We booked a course dinner with the hotel reservation. Dinner reservation at We had a mushroom flatbread and poutine as starters. The waitress warned us that they were not appetizer sized, but we had prepaid for the dinner so we were ordering two regardless. the poutine was excellent. The flat bread wasn't great, I ended up throwing out the leftovers. At the waitress said it was last call, we didn't have our mains yet, so forget about having wine with dinner. We had the tenderloin and boar chop for mains. The meat on both plates was very good, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Most of the sides were pretty plain but ok. The rye/leek bread pudding wasn't very good, very heavy on caraway. At the music was shut off, we were still eating our mains. We got dessert to go. When looking at the menu ahead of time, we had planned to order a dessert that had rum pairings. Since the bar closed early, we did not

I ordered the elk, while my husband c... read more We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the Sleeping Buffalo. The food was incredibly tasty and the portions were quite generous. I ordered the elk, while my husband chose the bison rib special. We have no complaints about the food whatsoever. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. After we ordered gin and tonics, she suggested a local gin that completely amazed us. We would definitely love to return.

The only option available was a lackluster buffet, with no regular menu to choose from. When I say lackluster, I mean that many items were empty, and we had to request more of certain dishes to be brought out. The service was also quite poor; we had to ask multiple times just for a glass of water, and dirty plates were left on our table until we requested them to be cleared. Overall, it felt unprofessionally managed. The food on the buffet was mediocre at best. While you can fill your stomach for $23, I wouldn't recommend this buffet as it's not worth the price. There are definitely better options in the Bow Valley.
