Feedback
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, which allows for excellent service. The waiter took the time to explain all the menu options and even suggested we could order off-menu. The wine selection and brandy were both exceptional. We opted for the Tapas, which were excellent and served in perfect portions. We tried almost everything on the Tapas list and all dishes were good, but the octopus was especially outstanding. Overall, the service was impeccable.
We ordered five tapas and a selection of three cheeses: soft, semi-soft, and hard. Each dish was accompanied by a little something extra—berries, almonds, a small salad, and honey for the hard cheese. We had plenty of leftovers for a nice breakfast the next day before heading out to ride the Banff Gondola as we leave town.
Grapes is a hidden treasure at the Banff Springs. It is a small restaurant, so it is recommended to make reservations. The tapas and charcuterie we sampled were all delicious. However, the service was a bit slow. The wine list is limited, and some of the prices were excessively high.
Best kept secret at the Banff Springs. Quiet and intimate and a lovely way to spend an evening noshing on charcuterie in a cosy environment. Highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer.
