However, many guests have expressed disappointment with service and food quality on special occasions such as Mother's Day and Christmas brunches. Issues include cold and stale food, unclean dishes, slow service, and high prices. On the other hand, regular visits to the restaurant have been delightful, such as for Easter Brunch with great food, service, and ambiance. Overall, while the Banff Springs Hotel offers some excellent dining experiences, special occasion brunches may not meet customer expectations.
My family and I had a disappointing experience at the Sunday Brunch on Christmas Day at Banff Springs Hotel. We were looking forward to a special occasion but encountered several issues during our visit. Despite plenty of available tables, we were seated at a small table that could barely fit 2 people, despite being a party of 4. The serving sets were incomplete and we were not offered water. The food at the roasting stations and pasta dishes was cold and dry, while the kids' buffet offerings were stale and unappetizing. Mold was found on some items, desserts were old and separating, and the seafood seemed to have been sitting out all day. Our bill lacked details, and overall we had a terrible and disappointing experience. We had to go to a fast food restaurant to get a late lunch for the children.
Overpriced for the experience. The restaurant is a spacious ballroom lacking in Christmas atmosphere.
Have dined on a number of occasions at this site and enjoyed each time however this mothers day special was a real disapointment with terrible service, cold food, limited supply buffet plates empty.

We were there for Mother’s Day Brunch for the first time in five years. After raving about how good this brunch was to my family in years past I booked the whole family in. The best thing about this brunch was the location!!! The price was outrageous, per person is okay, but racking on another per person for tax and tip was outrageous as the service was way below what I have come to expect from the Banff Springs. We were clearing our own plates and putting them on the empty table next to us. We waited at least a half hour for the tea to arrive!! Was not impressed. Many of the dishes were not hot enough, in particular the soup was lukewarm at best. One of my favorites from years past was the lamb and there was no lamb this year. The seafood was pretty good, the fresh cooked mussels were a very nice touch. The salad selection was abysmal. My father who is a celiac only wanted ice cream for dessert and they were out of vanilla, his favourite. To top it off we paid for parking. We will not be coming back for this brunch, I hear the Rimrock does a great job
