This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and it's never too crowded. I highly recommend it, especially for those staying at the Rocky Mountain Resort. Even when the townsite is packed with long lines for other restaurants, we have always been able to find a table here for a fantastic meal. View all feedback.
What Ковина Јунгић doesn't like about Alpha Bistro:
We were staying in the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort so decided to try the onsite restaurant. Some of the food was acceptable (not great), some was very poor. We ordered a pizza for our year old, it was undercooked and stodgy. We also had...butter chicken, where the chicken was strange. Like it was vegetarian. Didn't taste like chicken. Another pizza we ordered was cooked well on the top, but undercooked at the bottom.... View all feedback.
We ate here for breakfast on our rushed day in the park as we were staying at the hotel. The prices were very cheap compared to other places in the park and we received American sized portions - though this isn't really a plus for us as we were overwhelmed by all the food that came with the meal, and without a microwave in the room it didn't have much value as leftovers. The breakfast was really plain and a little mediocre. There was nothing to distinguish it from any cheap diner breakfast, which surprised us since the restaurant had a higher end atmosphere. The potatoes tasted like the frozen McCain ones out of a bag and what was advertised as "berry pancakes" came as a plain pancake with nothing on it (not even a side of butter). The staff, however, were VERY friendly and attentive. Between them and the atmosphere, the food really didn't match the vibe of the rest of the restaurant!
We had breakfast at the Alpha Bistro on our last morning in Banff just to avoid going back to the crowded town center as this restaurant was conveniently located in our hotel's lobby.Food quality was just average, my french toast didn't have much taste at all while my wife's pancake were definitely better although far from being among the best.We didn't try the meal menu so things might be different there. Anyhow, worth to be considered for it's quite location a few minutes drive from Town.
Drove out from Banff stopping at the Hooboos lookout on Tunnel road on the way there and back (the way out for a bit of exercise and the way back for the sunset). This is a great destination if you want to see a bit of scenery and to escape the dinner time rush in Banff. We sat on the patio which is protected from the wind and decorated with attractive flowers. The food was good value and good quality. We ate pasta dishes which were accompanied by garlic bread and contained some very good roast garlic.
We (family of four, including a 5 year old) went here for breakfast. The menu is certainly adequate and I am happy to say, not overwhelming. We, 3 adults, enjoyed eggs benny and it was just delicious. The 5 year old enjoyed waffles and whipped cream and seemed to really enjoy it. Service was truly very good.
Decent price for supper, and the burger I had was so good! Great staff too. I am staying at the resort but wanted to give it a shot. Hope to try the breakfast tomorrow.
