Our first time in a restaurant in Jalan Alor and we decided to go here for the crowded tables. It didn't disappoint! The guy (because his name was JM) who helped us with the menu was super friendly, took his time to explain and hear our preferences. And then the food came.. Oh, my! The grill chicken fish was so delicious! And the dry butter spells... so good. Actually, all the dishes were delicious. As you can see on... View all feedback.
What John Arif doesn't like about Meng Kee Grill Fish Míng Jì Shāo Yú Měi Wèi Diàn:
Pretty decent char kway teow with blood cockles, their Penang oyster omelette was also not bad but the chilli is spicy and sweet. Their service is pretty quick, 10RM for each of these dishes and the don’t charge tax. View all feedback.

And it was also affordable. Really recommend! Probably come here a few times before you get back to NL
We had the grilled sea bass! It was sooo good. We could sit inside and so it wasnt that hot. They have a lot of diverse menue and they take credit cards.
We ordered grilled stingray, hokkien mee and lala soup. All of them were good, despite there are a lot of people there. The serving speed was good enough and we didn't wait too long before our food arrived. Just need to be cautious about what you ordered and the prices as they tended to charge you extra than what you originally ordered.
Life has definitely returned to Jalan Alor, amidst the pandemic. The choices of food served at Meng Kee is extensive. Food comes really quickly after ordering, even if there are a lot of people. I recommend starting with chicken wings, then ordering the grilled stingray (ikan pari), mantis prawn and kam heong lala. You won't really go wrong with the food here.
Really enjoyed the fish dishes and the Char kuay teow. The food came fast. Enjoy the atmosphere, eat outside and around so many people. The prices are high, but the quality was not disappointed. It started raining at one point and we helped move our food to another table. It wasn't crowded at the time since it was Ramadan month.
