However, experiences vary widely. Diners have praised the exceptional service and ambiance during special occasions, like weddings, and enjoyed unique dishes, such as white onion soup and tasty desserts. Yet, numerous patrons lamented tough steaks, hidden charges for sauces, and lackluster service during peak times. While some claim it’s a hidden gem for family gatherings, others warn of inconsistent food quality, leaving potential visitors with a cautious sense of adventure.
We had an Anniversary Dinner with our daughter and son-In-law tonight. Absolutely first class service and amazing food. Fantastic menu with a great selection for everyone, a true gem of a restaurant!
I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance to book a table. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and I particularly enjoyed the open fire and the delicious Guinness. The prawn cocktail starter was presented in a unique way on a bed of wheaten bread, which I thought was a nice touch. However, both of our steaks were disappointingly tough. My medium steak and my wife's rare steak were cooked correctly, but the quality of the meat was not up to par. Despite this, my sticky toffee dessert was good, but my wife's cafe royale fell short as it was made with warm milk instead of fresh cream. It was a shame as we were really looking forward to our meal. Hopefully, they improve the quality of their steaks in the future.
The food at this restaurant was mediocre, with a very limited menu. Unfortunately, we were also charged for an item that we did not order, which was very disappointing. It felt like a rip-off, similar to being charged for something at a tableside.
I convinced my family to try this restaurant instead of our usual favorite spot based on their social media marketing, but it turned out to be a big mistake. The food did not live up to the hype at all - the steak was extremely tough and practically inedible. It may have looked good, but it was like chewing on rubber and definitely not the melt-in-your-mouth experience we were expecting. It was not worth the price we paid. The service was also lacking, with no management in sight. When we complained, we were told they would inform the chef, but we never received any follow-up. It seems like the restaurant is being run by amateurs. Overall, we were highly disappointed and would not return.
They are getting two stars because this evening my wife and I ordered two steaks medium, and they were delivered medium-rare. Also there are hidden charges on a Saturday and Sunday evening whereby the sauce does not come with the steak and is in fact...charged to your bill with an extra per sauce. Extremely disappointed considering it advertised itself as a Steakhouse and doesn't know the difference between medium and medium-rare as well as the underhanded hidden charges for sauces.
