The food and service were excellent. This was my first time here and I will definitely come back. Even though we didn't stay, the bar was bustling with a fantastic atmosphere.
1st time here tonight for the steak deal and definitely won't be the last, food excellent and staff so friendly and welcoming
Stop what you’re doing and book this place!!! Totally overwhelmed with how good this place was, we have eat in lots of fine restaurants all over the world, but have to say I think this is actually the best restaurant I’ve been to and it’s in the middle of nowhere! Totally faultless from start to finish, food was soooo good, service was great and reasonably priced. Can’t recommend highly enough, you owe it to yourself to try this one!!!
Myself, my wife and 9 month old arrived here on a Saturday evening without a reservation, something which I never do having worked years in the industry. The staff and management were very accommodating to us and couldn't do enough from start to finish. The risotto special starter was amazing and should be on the menu full time. Value for money and atmosphere were fantastic. The only downside is that I don't live close or Flax would be a regular stop off of mine!! Keep up the good work all.
Located in a secluded countryside setting with breathtaking views of the Mournes, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We had Sunday lunch for a party of 6 and the menu offered traditional Sunday meats as well as alternative options. The portions were generous, served with well-prepared vegetables, and we were offered more if we could finish them, which we couldn't. The homemade desserts were delicious. The service was unhurried yet efficient, with friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.
