Must be booked because is really busy restaurant. I was there on Tuesday and was 100% full.

We sat in the small farm (Beer Garden) and or... read more I love this brewery, I am here several times, and in my opinion Schlenkerla is one of the best beers in the world. We sat in the small farm (Beer Garden) and ordered some beers. Then I saw that my favorite was Weisswurst on the menu. The waitress went past me and took an order from another table. On their way back, the Weisswurst ordered, but they said they were not available because it was last noon. On my iPhone it was only 12.00. The loud neighboring clock had not completed the ring 12. But no whisper for me! A few minutes later, the waitress went past us with the orders she had taken seconds before me on the other table without saying that it was Weisswursts!!! I regularly travel to Bamberg and know that this article is a Bavarian breakfast dish and is sold only in the morning. However, the behaviour of this waitress was deliberately rude, unnecessary and designed to annoy foreign tourists. It was a terrible advertisement that I had taken for Schlenkerla, Bamberg or Bavaria.

Me and my colleagues did not like... read more This restaurant was high regarded on TripAdvisor. And indeed it was very crowded. The smoked beer was strange tasting at best. Me and my colleagues did not like it and the 6 local guys that we shared our table with had the same opinion it was not good. Food was average, nothing special, reasonably priced. Service was below average due to very long waiting time. After asking for a bill and waiting for 20 minutes, we had to go to find a waiter overselves. And there was a big unpleasant surprise for us cash payment only. My colleagues had no cash on him and it was a frustrating experience for him. I am expecting to warned in advance, before I order, that a business accepts cash only. Overall experience was below average, thus I have given this restaurant 2 stars. Would not go their again.

So I went back in the e... read more This afternoon I ordered a Rauchbier (which sort of grows on you) in the Biergarten an saw that they had Bamberger Zwiebeln on the menu. So I went back in the evening a sat at a large table with other guests and ordered a beer and the Zwiebel. They both tasted like more , so I had another Rauchbier. The good atmosphere in the Stube made me decide to someday go back to Bamberg, because it is a wonderful city.
