Beware of the dog of the owner. although dog was aggressive toward me he doesnt even move to calm down the dog . it almost bite my kid but he didn't and he keep barking on us . bad experience for me
I am absolutely furious about my experience today. As a regular customer, I expected respect, but the owner was beyond rude—completely ignorant and disrespectful. My friend and I waited standing by the counter for several minutes, and since the owner was nowhere to be found, we sat down at a vacant table inside. The café was almost empty, and no one else was waiting—so we simply chose a table that was more comfortable for my pregnant friend. It was not reserved, and we did not take anyone’s spot. Despite this, the owner behaved with utter disregard and hostility. Even though I explained everything politely, even using humor, he was completely shameless and insulting. I will never return, and I will warn everyone I know—this place does not deserve any business when they treat their loyal customers with such utter contempt. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the actual issue—your disrespectful and unprofessional behavior—you chose to deflect and misrepresent the situation. This was never about “discussing your café concept.” It was about basic respect and customer service, which every guest has the right to expect. Waiting at the counter with no staff present and then calmly taking a free seat—especially for a pregnant guest in an almost empty café—is not an unreasonable action. What is truly concerning is your consistent pattern of dismissive and hostile responses, not only to me but to many other customers as well. A concept should never be used as an excuse for rudeness. If your concept includes treating guests with disrespect, then perhaps it should be communicated clearly at the entrance. Respect goes both ways—and unfortunately, that was completely missing in this situation.
Not sure if the staff member was having a bad day, but the experience was disappointing. He was rude to me and my friends and refused to give us a table even though several tables were clearly available. If there are staffing or service issues, it would be better to put up a “closed” sign rather than being aggressive toward customers. Hi Markus, thanks for your reply. We understand that cafés can get busy and that sometimes there may not be a table available. From the entrance we could clearly see several tables that appeared to be free. When we asked for clarification, we were simply told again that there was no table, without any explanation. The way it was communicated came across as quite short and unfriendly. Even if other guests are waiting to be served, that doesn’t really justify speaking to people that way. If the tables were reserved or if you were no longer taking new guests, a short explanation would have helped. Another simple solution could also be to put a clear sign outside saying that the cafe is closed or not taking more guests at the moment, otherwise people have no way of knowing as they are not wizards. We have actually been there before and that is why we came back. Unfortunately this time the experience felt unpleasant. Maybe next time, if we visit again, things will be calmer and the interaction a bit friendlier. Best regards, Nuno
Fantastic cafés from the beaten path with fresh pastries and hot coffee. You can sit inside or outside, but grabing a table outside the vicinity of the waffle station is the best. You have employees who speak English and the owner is very nice. Great place for a pit stop while in Bamberg, Germany!
